International training for popular and cooperative executive managers9th Cycle | 2015/2016

Page 2: 9th cibp link training programme 2015 2016

Since the middle of 19th century common historic cooperative roots and ideas create a particular cultural background and a solid foundation for the activities of all member banks of CIBP.

In daily business regional development as well as the interpretation of common roots are different and therefore also diversely weighted. However there is a large consent that the business activities of cooperative banks and their clients increasingly establish businesses abroad.

In order to enhance common cooperative values CIBP offers a cross-border management training pro-gramme especially designed to link their members. Rooted all around the world, popular and cooperative banks share the same business model and work for a common and global inter-cooperation by connecting and supporting communities.

CIBP LINK is designed to bring together high potential decision makers from all CIBP member countries through an intensive course and related training activities.

• Top level international speakers and the opportunity of networking among people of different cultural backgrounds reveal new perspectives in management.

• The general set-up of the programme includes an attractive framework providing cultural, political and economic information on the hosting country.

• A training cycle is divided into three separate modules, taking place in three different countries.

• The national training units (academies) in these countries are in charge of organising and implementing each specific module within the guidelines of the CIBP LINK Working group.

• The Academy of German Cooperatives, ADG, identifies the essential requirements that the training pro-gramme must have. The CIBP LINK working group for a comprehensive “Training for popular and co-operative banking Executive Managers“ has overall responsibility and oversees the coherence between modules of each cycle.

Linking a Common Idea

Linking Managers and Experts

LINK, so well named programme! First a high-quality training session, innovative, enriching, opening new perspectives. Secondly, but even so important, the opportunity to create a true team spirit and strong links between the participants. This year spent together will stay one of my best professional, but also human experience, memories. LINK is great!

Linking Expertise and Best Practice – Cooperation assignmentOne of the main objectives is to create a network among top managers of CIBP member banks in order to foster cooperation. Therefore participants of the programme are invited to prepare a “CIBP LINK Cooperation assignment“ at the end of the cycle.

The presentations underline how participants have combined their managerial skills, expertise and knowledge with the cooperative values shared by their organisations.

Through the Cooperation assignment, participants experience what it means to work with peers from different cultures in order to define common interests for CIBP members. Therefore, CIBP LINK Participants formed in groups of 3-4 choose an innovative case study in line with the cooperative business model to allow dialogue during the final presentation session.

The main topic focuses on bringing new ideas to the cooperative business model and values to CIBP members’ department organizations in communications, innovation, IT & technology, HR, cooperation, economics, marketing, education, sustainability, proximity, governance, regional/global, customers/members’ needs, etc. We would like the participants to have the ownership of the content.

Moreover, a Mentor, ideally chosen among the CIBP LINK Alumni, accompanies the group along the assignment work and helps to overcome the challenges.

A rich experience in cultural exchanges with different profiles coming from different countries, with whom there have been strong moments of sharing ideas, experiences and best prac-tices. This programme provides after all, a great opportunity to establish and develop networking and cooperation between the participants of CIBP members
