PROJECT OVERVIEW AND CHALLENGES The system is a unique renewable energy project that converts cleaned biogas into renewable electricity and heat. The owner can supplement the biogas with natural gas to increase plant output. The heat from the engine exhaust is then used to dry the pulp. UNIT LOCATION Slave Lake, Alberta, Canada GAS DRIVE SOLUTION The customer built a waste water treatment system to clean the effluent waters from a local pulp mill in Alberta. The water treatment system uses an anaerobic process to convert the waste water into renewable methane (biogas). Once the biogas is cleaned of excess water and H2S, three GE Jenbacher J620 engines and a co-generation plant supplied by Gas Drive converts the methane into renewable electricity and heat. These three Jenbacher J620 engines have a combined electrical output of over 9 MW of power. Gas Drive secured the contract by utilizing the expertise of its engineers and partners to deliver a complete turnkey co-generation plant solution. Gas Drive provided a complete turnkey solution including the engineering, design, procurement, fabrication, installation, and general contracting. Gas Drive is also providing the engine maintenance services. This innovative solution has allowed the customer to save hundreds of thousands of dollars per year in electricity costs. 9 MW BIO GAS COMBINED HEAT AND POWER PLANT, CANADA Gas Drive’s innovative combined heat and power turnkey solution increases plant output saving the customer time and money TURNKEY PROJECTS +403.387.6300 www.gasdriveglobal.com CONTACT DETAILS GAS DRIVE 10121 Barlow Trail NE Calgary, Alberta, Canada T3J 3C6

GAS DRIVE SOLUTION

The customer built a waste water treatment system to clean the effluent waters from a local pulp mill in Alberta.
