Grading Scale:

Grades will be posted and managed on Infinite Campus. Please make it a habit for both student and parents to check the grades on a weekly basis. See my website or the ACP-Oakland website to sign up for parent/student access.

HOMEWORK:Homework may be assigned occasionally and is due at the beginning of class. Additionally, students may be quizzed at the onset of class if the homework assignment involved reading or studying a specific course topic.

Parents can help monitor work that needs to be completed by looking at the student’s agenda each day.

LATEWORK:o All work is due at the beginning of the period of the assigned day. If the

student is not prepared at that time but finishes the assignment later in the period or that day, the assignment will still be considered late.

o Late work may be turned in within 24 hours of the due date; however, an assignment that is turned in late will receive an 80% of the earned grade.

o If assigned work is not turned in or turned in after the 24 hour grace period, the grade for the assignment will be recorded as a “zero.”

ATTENDANCE POLICY:Attendance is vital in order to be a success student. When absent, it is the student’s responsibility to find out what was missed (assignments, notes, etc). Make-up work is given one class period for each day a student is gone from class. If a test or quiz is missed, the student will need to make arrangements with the teacher- either before/after school or during Conference Period. For more information, see the District Attendance Policy in the Student Handbook portion of the agenda.

Finally, I want you to know that one of my most important goals this year is to keep the line of communication open with you. We (the student, parent, and teacher) are teammates in this process of education and must work together. Please do not hesitate to contact me. I am available to speak to you before school or after school on most days. However, the best way to contact me is through the district email: [email protected].
