Archie Griffin Award Winners

Archie Griffin Award Winners• The Archie Griffin Award is the highest honor that a

Learwood student can receive. This award is voted on by Learwood staff after many months of careful observations.

• The Archie Griffin award is given to two students who show courage, determination, helpfulness, encouragement, while exemplifying the terms “Leadership and Sportsmanship”. Our two recipients this year are very deserving!

Archie Griffin AwardOur first Archie Griffin Recipient is described as a kind, enthusiastic, caring, and ambitious young lady. In class she asks inquisitive questions, helps others out without being asked, and always gives it her best effort. She finds kids who are working alone and partners with them. Outside of the classroom she helps the less fortunate. She is heavily involved with the school and the community and looks for ways to make things better. Her teachers also describe her as a person that spreads joy where ever she is. One teacher described her as a positive leader and kind influence in the class, participating, encouraging and helping other students. Another teacher said that one day she is going to change the world. The staff at Learwood is continually impressed by the person she is!

Archie Griffin AwardOur second Archie Griffin Recipient is described as one of the kindest, most polite humans that Learwood has ever had. He comes to class each day ready to learn, challenge himself, and at the same time looks out for the wellbeing of his teachers and classmates. He is always willing

to help other students with content material without just giving answers or

letting students copy. He plays multiple sports and is dedicated to making the

team better. He has been seen helping students and staff without being

asked. Earlier this year, he saw a teacher carrying a small table up the stairs,

he simply approached the teacher, took the table away, and carried it up the

stairs. He is described by the staff as a very impressive young man, who is

the epitome of what the Archie Griffin award stands for!
