Prayers and Praises

As we went out on a street night, the ground crew went to the Drop in Center and Glenda spoke briefly to a man there and quickly discerned that he was suicidal. She went into the room where we hold Bible Study and told the team. One of them suggested that we pray because he had learned that day of a friend who had committed suicide, so we prayed. that he should speak to the man and did so, sharing the hope of the Gospel.brought the man into the Bible study and our Bible Study leader, Mike, shared a short but powerful message from Scripture. We then all prayed together after singing and all the guests who came were highly blessed as were we. It was a great example of the Body working as a team, from different churches, using gifts to minister together. Praise God with us and pray for more opportunities like that!

One of our friends finished his baptism class; pray that the other two will also and be baptized around Easter/Resurrection Day. It’s been such a joy to do thatWednesday and Sunday nights in conjunction with the Jesus Studies.

Board: Elders and their wives: Mitchell and Rochelle Senti, Bernie and Mary Brower Elder/Pastor: Ben deRegt Treasurer/Elder: Dan Obbink Deacon and deaconess: Rustin Polinder and Linda Hammingh Bookkeeper: Karen Kooistra “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21 We appreciate your generosity so much! (Mitchell doesn’t see how much each of you gives, but he sees who gives.) If you’d like to make a donation, please send checks to: Envision Mission, 710 E. Sunset, Bellingham, WA 98225 Our vision: to seek the face of Jesus!

The CD is called, “Wake Up Oh Sleeper”. If you’re interested in getting a copy beforehand, let us know at 360-392-0289 or [email protected] There are 12 songs, mostly taken from Scripture and we would love to bless you with this CD. You can choose to donate to Envision or to the Senti family in any amount and receive a CD as a thank you! The clothing will be collected that night and all the next day at Hope in Christ church’s sanctuary. It will then be sold to a company that recycles it and the money used for our Summit House. Any donations given at the worship concert the night before will go to Envision Mission’s general fund. Would any men be interested in tutoring one or two of the men at the house in reading and writing his Bible Study and 12 step material? Let us know if so. We’ve received computers, still need a printer and mattress for the discipleship house called “the Summit”. If you’re interested in donating please write checks to Envision Mission and be sure to put “Rising Hope” on the memo line, as that is the name of that ministry of Envision. Our 12 step leader is still hoping for more help, but the men there have said that the process has already been life-changing within the first month! We also started the series on Sunday night called “Life’s Healing Choices” as a precursor to the Celebrate Recovery program which we are prayerfully considering whether we should host in Bellingham. It is an 8-week series and will be facilitated by Mitzie Crosser, one of our Stephen Servants. Pray that we will have wisdom about that and it will be an effective way to disciple folks in terms of recovery. Jon Ng, another Stephen Servant, has been tirelessly working to help folks get shelter in this cold weather season. We so appreciate him as he leads our Rising Hope ministry for the homeless. He’s a busy man these days so pray for his strength, protection and perseverance, especially as he is newly married On one of our street nights, we’ve been praying for a local porn shop to be shut down and the people therein to be saved. Well, we’ve had the opportunity to pray for and share Christ with some of the workers there recently and we are hopeful that the business itself will change completely. That night we also were able to pray for a couple who lost a homeless friend on the street and share the Gospel with a young man who was hanging outside at a bar. There are so many opportunities for the Gospel that come up like these. Pray these doors continue to open for the Gospel at Envision. Please let us know if you’re interested in coming to the India dinner with Project 92 on March 23 at North County Christ the King in Lynden at 6:30pm.
