KRAB has been at its present address from the beginning in 1962. The landlord has been very tolerant and

11

even friendly through all of our haywire modifications, strange hours and strange people, but now we must move. The owner of the property is planning other uses for it, and we will do what we have always wanted to do; move across the street into a house we own at 9026 ~osevelt.

Naturally this means paperwork, some with the FCC and some with the city. We must apply for several variances in order to make the relocation legal: a conditional use permit to have the transmitter in a neighborhood business zone, a variance to erect a tower closer than fifty feet to a rear property line, and a variance to operate a radio studio in a neighborhood business zone.

We have petitioned for all of these, and we invite all our subscribers to write letters in support of the petition. Letters should be in your own phrasing, natch, and should mention the file reference; Jack straw Memorial Foundation, Case No. 10, November 6, 1969. You might point up KRAB's lack of commercials, its unique character, its public service programming, th.e expected improvement in signal from a higher tower, or anything else that is close to your heart and relevant to our petition. Send the letter to the Planning Commission of the City of Seattle, City Municipal Building, Seattle, 98104.

The hearing will be Nov. 6 at 1 pm in the City Council Chambers on the ninth floor of the Municipal Building. If you would like to attend and show your support, please do. All guns will be checked at the door.
