Olive press in the village Sgourades

The main production of the inhabitants of Corfu - especially up until a few years ago- was and still is the production of olive oil. Almost in every village

of the island there is at least one olive press, called "loutrouvio" by the locals. The olive press is nothing more than the productive establishment

where the olive arrives as crop, it is cleaned and with the right procedure is turned into olive oil. The olive oil of Corfu is of very good quality.
