15. Missions Training Level 3 – Field Training Intensive (Los Angeles) Missionaries now register for and complete the Level Three Training Intensive. Training costs will be subsidized by CFM.

16. Final Preparation The associate missionary will be given final approval after completing all the requirements. He or she may then book his or her flight and deploy.

17. GO! Deploy! Upon arrival, register with the Canadian Consulate and prepare your emergency evacuation plan.

STAGE 4:SUPPORT RAISING13. Missions Training Level 2 – Fundraising This training will take place in Canada and you will either meet with a coach or they will come to your location. This will involve support raising, CRA regul- ations, and how to obtain visas.

14. Fundraising The approved associate missionary must raise 100% of their deployment costs and show committed monthly donors for their monthly budget. (This includes transportation to Level 3 training). Missionaries will have a two year limit on raising support.

7. Missions Training Level 1 – Missions Orientation Training (Los Angeles) All candidates are required to complete the Missions Level One training through Foursquare Missions International in Los Angeles, unless an exception is made by the missions committee based on prior education and/or experience. (Subsidy for this training is provided by CFM).

8. Additional Training (most cases) Candidates may be required to complete additional training, which will be assessed by CFM.

9. Field Ministry Proposal The candidate needs to complete a field ministry proposal which will provide an overview of their expected role and responsibilities as well as an outline of the strategies they will use to accomplish these goals.

10. Budget The candidate, the field supervisor in the country the candidate is deploying to, the sending church, and the CFM financial overseer must establish the start-up budget (deployment costs) and a monthly budget (personal and ministry).

11. Letter of Invitation During this time, a letter of invitation from the Foursquare National Church in the host country will be requested by CFM. Those involved must establish and agree on the country of assignment, the job description, and the potential length of the assignment.

12. Field Approval After completion of the preparation process, the candidate will receive an official letter of completion and will be granted field approval. At this point (and not before), the candidate may begin to refer to him or herself as a Foursquare missionary and begin raising financial support.

4. Missions Coach CFM will appoint a coach for the candidate to help them through the deployment process.

5. Sending Church Agreement The sending church needs to complete the sending church agreement form on behalf of the candidate.

6.6. Licensing The candidate must apply for a staff license under their sending church, and submit the application as per the current licensing manual procedures. Upon receiving a recommendation from CFM and the local church, the Licensing and Ordination Committee will review the proposed missionary’s application for licensing. (A staff license is required prior to moving to stage 3).

STAGE 1:APPLICATION1. Talk to your Pastor Have you talked with your pastor and is he/she in agreement? If you’re a lead pastor, have you talked with your unit supervisor?

2. Application Form and Checklist Go online to: www.foursquare.ca/missions to download the current application form or contact CFM.

3. Initial Approval On receipt of the completed file, CFM will review the application to determine if the applicant can be moved to stage two and continue in the mission deployment process. At this point the applicant will be given Initial Approval by the missions committee, in agreement with the missions coordinator and president of the FGCC, and will be considered a missionary candidate as they progress through the recommendation stage.

1. Ministry ExperienceAnyone pursuing missions must be a mature Christian, an active member of a Canadian Foursquare Church for at least one year, and involved in ministry before being considered for any type of missions.

2.2. Multicultural ExperienceThose desiring to go abroad to minister should have cross-cultural ministry experience in the community where they live. Involvement in this kind of ministry can provide a wealth of background experience that will be useful on the mission field.

3. Team ExperienceItIt’s important for applicants to have a passport and to have made at least one mission trip outside Canada. CFM will be asking for positive feedback from the team leader as a part of the application process. This can be accomplished by going with your church on a team or signing up to go with an already established team.

4.4. Language LearningIf a person has a strong desire or call to go to a particular country or language group, CFM recommends that language learning begin immediately as the process can be very time consuming.

5. Biblical/Theological UnderstandingIt is imperative that those going on the field have It is imperative that those going on the field have completed at least a basic discipleship course. A Bible Institute or Bible college education is recommended.
