I recently received an e-mail from Presi-dent/Directing Business Representative of District Lodge 70 Steve Rooney in which he congratulated the membership of LL834 for their outstanding win in the battle against corporate greed. Brother Steve is himself a member of Local Lodge 834 and therefore very concerned with our membership and how we are treated by Boeing.

Some of the Business Representatives of District 70 are 834 members as well and I’m sure they join Steve in wishing us all well for another four years of a much bet-

ter contract than we were offered in Sep-tember.

By trusting in our leadership that we could take on the company once again and fight for better benefits we proved that workers’ strength is in Collective Bargaining. Now, please join our International leadership by showing your support of the Employee Free Choice Act, a bill in Congress that would help level the playing field and give work-ers the freedom to choose a union and en-courage President-elect Barack Obama to support this bill as well. We need more good union jobs in the U.S.A. to survive.
