Purpose Examine whether GG features are already noticeable WITH comparison to the recent studies

Examine whether GG show different web behaviour (search, working memory & multi-tasking)

Participants First-year students in Cardiff University (studying introductory Political Science)

•Google Generation (after 1993)•Generation Y (1973-1993)•Generation X (before 1973)

Methods Qualitative questionnaire ( training about IL, assessing and using information, locating information)

•Questionnaire + experiments (WITH cooperation with BBC)

Results -Schools dose not provide too much training in IL-Books still the first reference (in academic setting) -Regarding the E-resources Google was the most popular electronic resource. (Wikipedia, academic journals)-DL IL (most students (47% %) repeat words to locate information)-This group of students are not yet suffering from information obesity (use discriminatory tactics)-Students have well understanding for pilgrims.-Most referencing problems mentioned technical problems-IL can be well integrated to the curriculum.

-GG is the quickest information searching-BUT least confidence about their information.-Cut and paste (in different way).-They are multitask (not better then GY) BUT do not multitask well.-GG have clearly poor working memories. GY was twice better then than GG.
