Limited Entry for Obedience based on 6 hours total judging time per day. Chapter 1 - Section

11 (b) Where a bitch comes into season after entry of the bitch has been submitted to the

Trial Secretary, a veterinarian’s certificate, certifying that the bitch was in season within the

ten-day period preceding the trial, must reach the Trial Secretary on or before the date of the

trial. The Trial-giving Club will refund the entry fee.

There will be a service charge of 20% + Tax for all entries sent by fax, mail or email directly to DESS with a credit card number & 10% + tax service charge for e-transfers. Any refunds will be made in Canadian Funds from the Show giving Club.

ATTENTION FOREIGN EXHIBITORS

Please note that fees are due and payable in Canadian dollars. Due to consistently fluctuating

currency rates, discounted cheques will not be accepted. Personal cheques will be accepted;

however, they are to be payable in Canadian funds. If you send a cheque in US funds, it

must be made out for the full amount of the entry and no exchange will be refunded to the

exhibitor. Please do not mark cheques “Payable in Canadian Funds” or “At Par”. They will

not be cleared by the banks. To simplify the process, we urge that you purchase bank drafts

or money orders payable in Canadian funds. Your understanding and cooperation is

appreciated. Thank You.”

Baby Puppy ............ A dog between 3 & 6 months on the day of the show.

Junior Puppy .......... A dog between 6 & 9 months on the day of the show.

Senior Puppy .......... A dog between 9 & 12 months on the day of the show.

12 - 18 Months ....... A dog between 12 & 18 months on the day of the show.

Canadian Bred ....... A dog which is born in Canada. No champions of any country

Bred by Exhibitor .... The handler of the dog is also the breeder and owner.

SHOW ETIQUETTE (Section 6.3.3)

It shall be the duty and obligation of the show giving club to see that a judge, club official,

volunteer, or any participant at an event is not subject to indignities. The Conformation Show

Committee Chair shall promptly report to the CKC any infringement of this regulation, and

the Discipline Committee shall have the authority to take such action as it deems fit on receipt

of a report indicating that this has occurred. (See Section 19.7)

to 4th in each class.

CAMPING

Space will be provided for campers with water & electricity. We have a limited number of

hookups available. It will therefore be on a first come first served basis. Campers will be

allowed to enter from 6:00 pm on Thursday. Campers must co-operate in the placement of

all units to maximize the use of our space and to afford a safe arrangement for all. Camping

Fees to be paid to: Champlain Dog Club. Cost for Camping is $40.00 per Trailer/RV for the

weekend. Reservations to be mailed to the Show Secretary with your entries.

CHAMPIONS & CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS

SECTION 1: A dog awarded WINNERS at a championship show held under these Dog Show Rules shall

be credited with a number of championship points (ranging from 0 to 5) and the determination of the

number of championship points to be credited to a dog awarded WINNERS shall be as provided

hereunder.

SECTION 2: The schedule to be employed in the determination of the number of points to be allocated a

dog awarded WINNERS shall be as follows:

To determine the numbers of championship points earned by a dog awarded WINNERS total all the dogs

in competition which the dog defeated, directly or indirectly, for the highest of the following official breed

awards: Winners, Best of Winners, Best of Breed or Best of Opposite Sex and then consult the schedule

set forth above. The new system provides for additional points (provided that the dog has defeated

another as listed hereunder:

A class dog awarded Best in Show at an all-breed championship show will be credited with five points

inclusive of any points earned at the breed or group level. In no case, may a dog earn more than five

points at any single show.

CKC NON-MEMBER PARTICIPATION FEE

The Non-Member Participation Fee applies to dogs wholly owned by a resident of Canada who is not a member of the CKC; it is not applicable to CKC members or dogs co-owned with a CKC member. In order for the title to be awarded, the non-member will have a choice to either become a CKC member or pay the Non-Member Participation Fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will result in the title being withheld and the dog cannot be moved up to the next level. (For a Membership application, please go to www.ckc.ca under CKC Services and Forms On-Line). The Non-Member Participation Fee is fee paid in the calendar year (January – December) in which the dog achieved its title and/or titles.

GENERAL

1. The Show Building will be open to receive exhibitors on Thursday at 6:00 pm and will close at 7:00

pm on Sunday. An “In transit area” will be provided at these shows according to the amendments

to Chapter 13.10 or the CKC Dog Show Rules.

2. To comply with instructions issued by the Canadian Kennel Club, we will be unable to accept any

entry reaching our Show Secretary after the official closing date as published in this premium list.

3. No entry will be accepted unless all particulars called for on the entry form are filled in, ex. Birthday,

Class and Sex.

4. NO ENTRY WILL BE ACCEPTED UNLESS ACCOMPANIES BY THE ENTRY FEE. POST

DATED CHEQUES ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE.

5. TELEPHONE ENTRIES CANNOT BE ACCEPTED.

6. Exhibitors must abide by errors made in entering their dogs regardless of how or by whom the

entries were made. Change or cancellation of any entry after closing day os prohibited. No Refund

will be made for duplicate entries.

7. The CDC DOG SHOW COMMITTEE reserves the right to refuse any entry, subject to C.K.C.Dog

Show Rules.

8. THE SHOW SUPERINTENDENTS WILL BE IN FULL CHARGE OF THE SHOW which will be

governed by C.K.C. Rules.

9. Identification cards and judging schedule will be mailed as soon as possible after entries close.

10. Unless a dog is officially entered, it will not be allowed in the show precincts.

11. Dogs need only to arrive 15 minutes before scheduled judging time, and will be excused, each

show, when not required for further judging.

12. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to have the dog in the ring when the dog’s class is scheduled

for judging.

13. The CDC Show Committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors,

but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of an accident, or other

misfortune, to either dogs, exhibitors, or patrons.

14. Since the Show Secretary is not responsible for the engaging of the photographer, please direct

any communication regarding photographs to the photographer.

15. If because of riot, civil disturbance or other acts beyond the control of the management; it is

impossible to open or to complete the show no refund of entry fee will be made.

16. To avoid noise and confusion, there will be no individual dogs called to the ring by loud-speaker.

Times on the judging schedule are broken down hourly in individual breeds. Extra copies are

available from the Secretary. The Show giving club and the Superintendent have no obligation or

responsibility for providing service through a public-address system or stewards or runners for the

purpose of calling or locating dogs that are not brought into the ring when required. Delays waiting

for dogs will not be possible and handlers with several breeds must arrange for alternate handlers

if judging times for their breeds conflict.

ATTENTION ALL FOREIGN EXHIBITORS

To obtain an ERN simply do the following:

Send a photocopy of the dog's registration certificate reflecting current ownership - with a written request

for an ERN. Include full payment in the amount of $62.40 plus applicable taxes. Accounts may be paid

with personal or business cheque, money order, Visa or Mastercard. For Non-Members please note that

if paying by cheque, the cheque must be certified. Non-residents of Canada please note that discounted

cheques or money orders will not be accepted due to fluctuating currency rates. Provide us with your full

return address. Faxed requests will be accepted. Please include your VISA/MasterCard number,

expiry date, cardholder's name and signature. An ERN must be obtained within 30 day of obtaining

points, awards or scores to avoid cancellation. If factors beyond your control prohibits this or presents a

problem, please send a written request for a 30 day extension.
