80 SERIES

THE 80 SERIES is the latest model to join Wharfedalesrange of professional loudspeakers. Its pedigree stems fromthe successful Prog. 30D, one of the accepted standards inCD Jukebox extension speaker installation and the everpopular 2180. It is an attractive 2 way system designed forwall or shelf mounting, equally at home in a portrait orlandscape orientation. The 2080 features bass-reflex tuningthrough twin port tubes providing optimal low-frequencytuning, enhancing the already substantial bass output fromthis high quality enclosure.

High performance Wharfedale drive units are used with asubstantial 200mm woofer crossing over to a high quality25mm tweeter complete with a ferrofluid cooled voice coilensuring consistent and reliable long term performance.The 2080 comfortably handles a full 100 watts of powerand is built around a substantial lateral wrap cabinet whichprovides high strength for safe rear bracket mounting. Ithas an attractive black vinyl finish with removable blackcloth grilles.

One of the all time great loudspeaker designs theWharfedale 2180 has become established in such diverseroles as karaoke bar systems and surround sound installa-tions in cinemas and movie houses; as well as featuring intens of thousands of bar, restaurant and small club installa-tions. The 2180 is a proven product manufactured for overten years and offering enviable standards of reliability.

As with all our loudspeaker systems the drive units areexclusive Wharfedale designs made in our own factory.The substantial 200mm pulp cone woofer is used with two25mm soft dome tweeters which feature Ferrofluid coolingand electronic overload protection for extra reliability.

80 SeriesThe 2180 is discretely finished in black vinyl with greyplastic trims and removable black cloth grilles.

The 3180 is the largest model in this range and developsthe 2180 concept through the addition of a second200mm diameter bass drive unit. By positioning this uniton the side of the cabinet a remarkably compact loud-speaker system is achieved; one that offers high power han-dling and high SPL outputs.

The compact size and discrete appearance of the 3180makes it ideal for the small club where the use of several ofthese loudspeakers can produce the sound levels the cus-tomers desire yet with the minimum loss of valuable space.

The 3180 offers a perfect combination of performance;value; appearance; reliability and, above all, the legendaryWharfedale sound quality.

The philosophy behind these loudspeakers is simple. To further extendWharfedales reputation for excellent sound quality whilst employinginnovative design to give a distinctive yet discrete appearance to theseloudspeaker systems.Traditionally the loudspeaker placement in rooms has been dominatedby the needs of stereo reproduction and consequently most positionsare a compromise enforced by the directionality of conventional loudspeakers.However, Wharfedales innovative solution is to use the Baker Effect,a phenomenon first noted in the 1930s. By mounting two hf driveunits perpendicular to each other, and carefully contouring thecrossover network, Wharfedale has been able to reproduce a dramaticstereo effect in almost any listening position.
