8) How to Renew Smartcard Certificates Log on with your Smartcard (DELL Keyboard reader) and select your Registration Authority Agent role Go to the NHS Spine Portal Click Launch NCRS Smartcard Management Service An intermediate screen will appear Enter your PIN number again and click Logon Click Cancel Card Note: Write the users 12 digit smartcard number down on a piece of paper Insert the locked card into the second (external) card reader It will display the owner of the card - click Confirm Click the arrow on the drop down box select Revocation (other) (revoke) Type in the Details Field Certificate Renewal Click Continue Cancel Card operation completed Main Menu Click Issue Card Type the smartcard number in the UID box Click and select the top name: RA Manager Click Search The user appears Click the user Click the drop down box arrow and select NHS Care Records Service Unlocked Then click Accept Ask the user to input their preferred PIN number in both boxes, then click Next Note: The PIN number is between 4 and 8 characters long, it can be both letters and numbers but it is case sensitive - for simplicity sake, we recommend a 4 digit PIN number (like a bank PIN).
