THE EVENT

Alexandroupolis Yacht Club in conjuction with the Sports Organization of the City of Alexandroupolis and under the authority of the Hellenic Sailing Federation is organising the "7th NOA regatta- Alexandroupolis 2015" including classes: Optimist, Laser 4.7, Laser Radial, Laser Std. The races will be held in Alexandroupolis, Greece.

NOA (Alexandroupolis Yacht Club) was founded in 1964 by people with a passion for water sports who wanted to transmit their experiences to the youngsters. Ever since it has a growing  presence in water sports events, sailing and scuba diving.

Alexandroupolis• Alexandroupolis is the Capital of Evros Prefecture, with a population of over 70.000

inhabitants it is the largest city in Thrace. In the mid-19th century, fishermen from Maronia, Makri and Enos, erected a small settlement, the Dede Agats. In 1880 Russian officers design the city’s waterfront as part of an outstanding urban plan. The city’s symbol, the lighthouse, was constructed in 1880. The port of Alexandroupolis with significant commercial traffic, has developed through the years, consolidating a long relationship of its inhabitants with the Aegean sea.Ever since, despite the adverse conditions faced by the city, it continues to grow. The Demokritos international airport, the port, Egnatia Road and the train connection have established Alexandroupolis as an significant financial centre of the Balkans.

• Clinics for Optimist and Lasers are organized before the races, by experienced coaches   from 30st of July till the 1st of August, giving the opportunity for a week full of sailing!

• The event is included in the official IODA calendar for a thierd consecutive year. A lot of clubs, from Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Turkey, Kuwait, Egypt, Qatar and of course Greece, have already expressed their interest to participate at 2015 event.
