We all are familiar with fire. We use it in different ways. Fire may be dangerous. Let’s find out how fire is our friend and foe.

WHAT IS FIRE?


THINGS NEEDED TO MAKE FIRE

We need three things to make fire-

1- Fuel [wood, coal, cooking gas] 2- Oxygen [present in the air] 3-Heat [a lighted match stick]

fuel begins to burn is called

the “flash point” or kindling

temperature.


FIRE AS A FRIENDFire is our friend because we

use fire to cook our food, keep ourselves warm in winter and save our life from the wild animals.


FIRE AS A FOE

Fire is our enemy because it1-Damages thousands of homes and shops.2-Damages vast areas of forests.3-Kills hundreds of people.

1-Take away the fuel.

2-Remove the heat.

3-Prevent oxygen from reaching the fuel.
