SYNOPSIS

LOGLINE

Brendan Sexton III (Boys Don’t Cry, AMC’s The Killing) stars as a young man who struggles with unexplained events inside of a New York apartment building where tenants are not who they appear to be. SYNOPSIS

Clyde (Brendan Sexton III) travels to an old New York City apartment to care for his traumatized younger cousin, Kate, (Antonella Lentini) after she discovers her roommate dead. He begins to suspect that other tenants were involved after encountering two neighbors (James Russo, Armando Riesco) who have an unusual amount of interest in Kate’s well being. As his exploration into the roommate’s death continues, Clyde’s perception of what is real and imagined begins to blur.

DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT

7E is a film inspired by its surroundings: New York City in general and the 7E apartment in particular. It is a real place: a large pre-war apartment with its own unique history that I feel a strong connection to since it has been rent-controlled in my family for many years. While writing this film, I felt a natural pull toward the air of antagonism present in Polanski’s The Tenant. I wanted to incorporate this feeling heavily into the atmosphere of my own film. In the end, I see 7E as a sort of fever dream- a memory embellished with distinct impressions of its protagonist’s environment and emotional state.
