Transfer to the Fleet Air Arm Museum in Som-erset. Fleet Air Arm Museum is Europe's largest Naval Aviation Collection and represents the flying arm of the Royal Navy. D-Day Museum Arromanches: The permanent exhibition on the Normandy Landings was officially opened on June 5th 1954 in Arromanches by Mon-sieur René COTY, then President of the French Republic. It was the first museum to be built in commemoration of June 6th 1944 and the Normandy Cam-paign. The D-Day Museum over-looks the very spot where one of the Mulberry Harbours was con-structed and where its remains can still be seen today, just a few hundred metres from the shore. Your visit includes a guided tour of the gallery featuring working models overlooking the historic site, the Hall of Allied Nations and a 15-minute cinema fea-turette tracing the design, trans-port, construction and operation of Mulberry Harbour B. Included visit to the D-Day Beaches and Coleville American Cemetery.

The Pegasus Bridge Memorial:

Inaugurated on June 4th, 2000 by HRH the Prince of Wales. The Memorial Pegasus is dedicated to the men of 6th Airborne Divi-sion and their role during the Battle of Normandy from June to September 1944. The museum was designed and constructed within a few months by the D-Day Commemoration Com-mittee presided by Admiral Brac de la Perrière. Learn more about the missions carried out before the seaborne landings on the beaches in June 1944, The Lon-gest Day. Hundreds of historical objects and photos of the era are presented in the museum. The original Bénouville Bridge, renamed Pegasus Bridge after the liberation, is on display in the park of the museum along with a Bailey bridge and a full size copy of a wartime Horsa glider.
