ITEM 7.9 EMBANKMENT FROM COMMON IMPORTED FILLED7.9.1 GENERAL7.9.1.1 DESCRIPTIONThe Contractor shall be responsible for the supply, safe storage and handling of all materials set for in this Specification. All materials supplied under this Specification shall be subjected to inspection and testing by the Engineer. There shall be no charge to the Employer for any materials taken by the Engineer for the inspection purposes.This specification shall cover the preparation of sub-grade and the supply and installation of sand beddings on pipe lines. The work to be done by the Contractor under this Specification shall include the furnishing of all superintendence, overhead, labor, materials, equipment, tools, supplies and all other things necessary for and incidental to the satisfactory performance and completion of all work as herein specified.7.9.2 MATERIAL REQUIREMENTSBase Course AggregateOtherwise specified by the Engineer, base course aggregate for the work in this item shall be in accordance in related subject somewhere in this specification.7.9.3 EXECUTION7.9.3.1 EXCAVATIONExcavation shall comply with NSCP Specifications. The excavation shall not extend beyond the specified limits of excavation. The limits of excavation shall be taken as a vertical plane one hundred fifty (150) millimeters beyond the limits of the proposed bedding, unless otherwise specified on the Drawings. For granular fill installations, the sub-grade shall be excavated to the minimum depths shown on Standard Detail, unless otherwise directed by the Engineer.7.9.3.2 PREPARATION OF BASE COURSE AGGREGATEThe granular fill shall be spread and leveled so that the paving stones when installed are ten (10) millimeters higher than the finished grade. No sand shall be spread more than what can be covered in one day by excavation. The bedding sand layer shall not be compacted prior to excavation, and installation of pipes.7.9.4 MEASUREMENT/BASIS OF PAYMENTThe quantity to be paid for shall be the number of cubic meters of stone masonry complete in place and accepted. Projection extending beyond the faces of the walls shall not be included. In computing the quantity for payment, the dimensions used shall be those shown on the plans or ordered in writing by the EngineerThe quantity of course aggregate shall be paid for at the contract unit price per cubic meter for granular fill, which price and payment shall be full compensation for furnishing and placing all materials, including gravel, for all necessary excavations, and for all labor, equipment, tools and incidentals necessary to complete the item.

ITEM 7.10 ELECTRICAL GROUNDING (Same as Item 6.22)

ITEM 7.11 FABRICATION AND INSTALLATION OF CABLE TRAY7.11.1 GENERAL7.11.1.1 DESCRIPTIONThis item includes all materials, labor, equipment and tools necessary for the construction and installation of metal cable tray from the powerhouse to the sub-station.7.11.2 MATERIAL REQUIREMENTSThe cable tray shall be made of bended and welded galvanized steel sheets as per approved plans and in accordance to globally accepted standards.The size shall be able to accommodate all cable and wires coming from the powerhouse control room and connected into the power transformer located in the sub-station.The cable tray shall be protected at all times from the run-off water or flooding.7.11.3 MEASUREMENT/BASIS OF PAYMENTThe item will be paid as indicated in the contract which is per accomplishment or can be converted into lump sum basis.The accepted quantities measured as prescribed above shall be paid for at the contract unit price for each of the particular pay items listed and included in the Bill of Quantities. The payment shall constitute full compensation for the fabrication, installation and supply of materials including all labor, equipment tools and incidentals necessary to complete the work prescribed in this item.
