My preliminary consisted of one image, not edited with 3 sell lines in the standard font. My image wasnt taken using any lighting equipment or complex camera settins (eg; aperture or iso) . The front cover preliminary image hasnt been edited or saturated at all in photo shop. Unlike my preliminary, in my front cover I took the image using lighting equipment to highlight one side of his face, and I also boosted the contrast to give his skin a glowing look, and used the plaster tool on photo shop to eliminate a fair few blemishes from his face. I also played around with fonts and colours to find a house theme, and feel that I have progressed with achieving a more simplistic yet edgy theme. I learned how to place text slightly behind something, like I did with my masthead behind the models head as this was a regular convention used by magazines. I also learnt how to create an ombre fading background to guide the reader down the page especially as this is a first edition magazine it makes it stand out. 5. From using photo shop correctly and for lengthy hours, I learnt the use of layering, which enabled me to work my text/sell lines around each other correctly. This also allowed me to be more efficient with time, and if I needed to change on thing in a layer I did in the beginning, I could go back to it with no problem. I also learnt how to crop around an image and involve it in my final production. I used the icons of social networking sites as this would relate my production to the audience well. I also did this for the image, and cut around the white background to embed the image into the orange/white background. This improved my work and gave it a professional finish with no horrendous unclean edges. Using a camera was also a tricky part of the process for me as I was used to taking images on a small digital camera not a professional one. By looking at tutorials this enabled me to develop my photography skills and take images with suitable lighting, aperture, shutter speed and ISO. 6. I also learnt that using a focus group would enable me to gather the opinions of my target audience. I put forward a range of options to my focus group for the name of my product. This would enable my product to be as relatable to my target audience as possible as its using their opinions and ideas. 7.
