LIME ACADEMY WATERGALL 7 February 2020 Dear Parents and Carers, It has been really pleasing to see children across the school working so hard on their learning and demonstrang our trust values. On Monday, school council delivered an excellent presentaon to KS2 all about their visit to the 999 club at Peterborough City Hospital. Music has been sounding very good across school this week. Children in Rock Steady on a Monday morning are making very good progress and already sounding great, just a few weeks into this term. Piano and guitar lessons have also been sounding good. This aſternoon, Year 3 have been working very hard on developing their music skills through their samba lessons and they have generated a pleasant sound across school. I look forward to being able to showcase this talent with you during term 4. Year 4 had a wonderful visit from Zoolab into school on Tuesday, where they were learning all about the rainforest. The children parcularly enjoyed holding the gecko lizard called Honeywho enjoyed climbing over children, observing Princess Kaethe rat run over the handlers arms with a command and a white corn snake which most of the children were brave enough to handle. There are some photographs on the next page of the newsleer. Thank you to the parents of Year 1 who supported the reading workshop on Thursday, I have heard that this was a great success and hope that you benefied from this too. I would like to take this opportunity to reiterate the importance and expectaons of school uniform. Our uniform ensures that no student feels disadvantaged in terms of appearance, removes the need to keep up with constantly changing and expensive fashion trends, and insls a sense of pride. Therefore, please ensure that your child is wearing a school e every day and that they have black school shoes. Trainers in any colour are not appropriate as school footwear. Have a lovely weekend. LIME ACADEMY WATERGALL 7 February 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been really pleasing to see children across the school working so hard on their learning and demonstrating our trust values. On Monday, school council delivered an excellent presentation to KS2 all about their visit to the 999 club at Peterborough City Hospital.

Music has been sounding very good across school this week. Children in Rock Steady on a Monday morning are making very good progress and already sounding great, just a few weeks into this term. Piano and guitar lessons have also been sounding good. This afternoon, Year 3 have been working very hard on developing their music skills through their samba lessons and they have generated a pleasant sound across school. I look forward to being able to showcase this talent with you during term 4.

Year 4 had a wonderful visit from Zoolab into school on Tuesday, where they were learning all about the rainforest. The children particularly enjoyed holding the gecko lizard called ‘Honey’ who enjoyed climbing over children, observing ‘Princess Katie’ the rat run over the handlers arms with a command and a white corn snake which most of the children were brave enough to handle. There are some photographs on the next page of the newsletter.

Thank you to the parents of Year 1 who supported the reading workshop on Thursday, I have heard that this was a great success and hope that you benefitted from this too.

I would like to take this opportunity to reiterate the importance and expectations of school uniform. Our uniform ensures that no student feels disadvantaged in terms of appearance, removes the need to keep up with constantly changing and expensive fashion trends, and instils a sense of pride. Therefore, please ensure that your child is wearing a school tie every day and that they have black school shoes. Trainers in any colour are not appropriate as school footwear.

Have a lovely weekend.

Regards,

Mr Newstead

Deputy Headteacher
