3 rd Aug 19 5 th & 6 th Aug 19 FACILITATORS DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP (The Awakened Citizen Programme) Teachers from DMA participated in a two days facilitators’ development workshop on value education conducted by Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi at The Millennium School. The workshop aimed at empowering the students and bringing about an inner transformation giving them a new identity and to enable them to develop faith in themselves, face challenges of life and become truly enlightened citizens. The program turned out to be an extremely enriching experience for the teachers as it not only developed the idea of awakening possibilities for the students but also enlightened the facilitators with the same thought. 7 AUG RAKSHA SUTRA

Inter House Group Dance Competition

The students of the four houses competed with each other in an Inter House Group

Dance Competition on the theme “Patriotism”. The first prize was claimed by Patel

house which performed on a song from the famous movie “URI” thus paying a tribute

to the Indian navy. Tagore house bagged the second position representing the joyous

spirit and valour of the song “India wale”, closely followed by the Gandhi House on the

third position. The spellbound spectators bore witness to the exuberant dance

performances to the fullest.

AWARENESS PROGRAMME FOR SCHOOL ACCREDITATION

A One-day seminar on “Awareness Programme for School

Accreditation” was organised at DMA on 10 Aug. 2019 by the

resource person Dr B Singh, Ms Geetika Sharma, officer NEBT,

Mr. Somil Tyagi, Executive officer trainee ,NEBT, and revered

Principal Dr (Mrs) Ritu Dewan . The resource persons

highlighted the best practices pertaining to significant areas of

school education involving three main key Domains 1) School

Governance 2) Education and Support Management 3)

Performance Measurement and Improvement. Dr B Singh

spoke about the importance of accreditation programme, a

voluntary evaluation process that institutions undergo in order

to maintain standards of educational quality agreed upon by members of an accrediting body. He further stressed upon the need

of accreditation to maintain the quality parameters as per the CBSE.

13 August 2019

International Youth Day Celebrations

International Youth Day was celebrated with full

enthusiasm on 13 April, 2019 through a special

assembly by Nehru House. The programme started with

a melodious song followed by an informative speech by

Khushi Wadwa (XI L), on the Role of Youth in Building

the Nation. Pragyesh (XI E), Chaitanya (XI K), Megha

Chauhan (IX A) and Anand Prakash (XG), enacted an eye-

opening skit on ‘Responsibilities of the Youth’, with a lot

of zeal. The mesmerizing dance performance by Nandini

(VIII D), Hansika (IX I) and Apoorva (VIII G), on the

theme’ Instilling Patriotism in the Youth of Today’, was

enjoyed by one and all. The assembly then took the

pledge not to waste natural resources and to reduc e the use of plastics. 143 meritorious students of class IX and X were

felicitated with certificates and scholar badges. Certificates of appreciation were also given to 27 students with 100%

attendance. 7 students wer e felicitated with certificates and medals for their outstanding performance in the Yoga Competition

held at State Level.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

The 73rd Independence Day was celebrated with great patriotic fervor on

August 15, 2019 in the premises of Dayawati Modi Academy which echoed

with patriotic songs. The whole school was shimmering with the shades of

the National Flag. Honorable Principal, Dr. (Mrs.) Ritu Dewan, initiated the

Independenc e Day celebration by unfurling the national flag, followed by

the rousing chorus of the National Anthem by one and all . A melodious

song was presented by the school choir followed by thought provoking

speeches were delivered by Nandini Vikal of class XI-M and Ansh

Mehndiratta of class X-D highlighting the need to preserve the honor of

our motherland by maintaining its good will , peace and harmony, unity,

integrity and sovereignty. Talented students of Patel House presented a

mesmerizing group dance portraying the sacrifices made by our Indian

Army. The Eco Club paid a tribute to the Nation by spreading a message of

cleanliness by exhibiting play cards with a message of ‘Clean and Green

India’.

17th AUG 2019

Workshop on Child Psychology

In order to reflect and equip teachers to be

effective in their teaching, DMAI organised a

workshop on 17th August 2019 in the school

library, conducted by the resource person Dr. Paul

Pudussery, a spiritually motivated leader. The

workshop conducted was based on Child

Psychology, Impacting Learning through Futuristic

Vision, Creative classrooms and NEP2019. The

resource person emphasised on transforming

school environment into a learning environment,

in which teachers have to be learners, leaders,

facil itators, and analyst and even to become co-

learners with the students to learn and think beyond the box. The innovative and informative workshop was attended by 120

teachers of the school.

22-23 August 2019

QCI Awareness Workshop

Accreditation Standard for Quality School Governance

A two day workshop was organised in DMA by QCI on 22st Aug 2019 with following objectives: School Governance, Education

and support process and Performance Measurement and Improvement. The workshop was conducted by Dr B Singh, free lancing

Educational Consultant and Managing Director, Ourja Delhi and Dr Gaurang Tiwari – Accreditation Officer-NABET. The resource

persons explained the need for accreditation and concern relating to the same, especially when it gets related to better quality

standards. The benefits of assessment and accreditation were explained. The interventions for accreditation as strategic tools

were discussed along with the shifting parameters.

INDIA INTERNATIONAL MOVEMENT TO

UNITE NATIONS – IIMUN - MEERUT

CHAPTER-2019

A delegation of students from DMA

participated in IIMUN- the largest global

youth movement, organised by its Meerut

chapter from 23rd to the 25th of August

2019 at CJDAV Meerut. Pressing issues of

our times like reducing dependency on

petroleum; suggesting reforms in the U.N

including alternate means of financing the

U.N; finding ways of monitoring financing

of terrorism; enhancing the reproductive rights of women were discussed with great enthusiasm. Sixteen schools comprising of

over 500 delegates participated in the confer ence with maturity anf gusto. The Best Delegate awards were won by Yash Ahlawat

(XI-M) for the CTITF Committee; Nandini Vikal (XI-M) for UNW and Atiksha Bansal (XI-C) for the Best Journalist. Special Mention

Awards went to Hitaarth Tyagi (XI-D) and Shreya Dadwal (XI-M) for the General Assembly Committee. The Verbal Mention Award

went to Navya Srivastava (IX-D) for UNEP. DMA lifted the Best School Delegation Award.

24th AUG 2019

JANMASTHAMI CELEBRATION

The birthday of Lord Krishna was celebrated with immense

gaiety and splendour to understand the true philosophy of life

and karma by the students of Tagore house in a special

assembly on 24 September 2019 .The assembly initiated with

floral offerings to lord Krishna followed by the prayer as a

humble sublimation to seek blessings of the Almighty. An

inspiring speech, poem recital, bhajan singing and devotional

dance performance created a divine fervour all around. An

Inter house Mime act competiton was organised to aware the

students of social issues existing in our society. The first

position was bagged by Patel house whereas Tagore house

secured 2nd position and Nehru claimed 3rd position.

24th AUG 2019

Excursion to Kidzania

With a mission to provide an environment that empowers the students to

explore, to meet the challenges and to open their mind to new

experiences, DMA organized an excursion to Kidzania, an indoor

entertainment and learning centre, for the students of grade II – VIII on 24

August, 2019. Students got a truly unique and interactive learning

opportunity for wherein they enjoyed myriad activities pertaining real life

jobs of pilot, doctor, engineers, lawyers and chefs and so on, developing

key skills like psychomotor, cognitive, emotional, social, and language

skills. Through these activities students not only understood the plethora

of career options available to them but also enhanced essential skills of

team work, communication, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, digital

l iteracy, emotional intell igence and global citizenship.

6th Inter-School English Debating Championship

The zealous students of DMA from Class IX to XII went to

Modinagar to participate in 6th Inter-School English Debating

Championship held at Dr K N Modi Global School, Modinagar

on 30th August 2019. The team of seven members consisted

of 4 main speakers viz. Mansha Singh (XI-C), Karanveer Singh

(X-I), Prakirti Singh (X-C), Atiksha Bansal (XI-C), and 3 floor

speakers viz. Suhani Dixit (IX-A), Anushka Royal (IX-J), Shruti

Kakkar (XII-L) qualified for semi-finals. Atiksha Bansal (XI-C)

was awarded with the consolation prize for her excellent

oratory skills. This was a spectacular event with oratory at its

best that saw the participation of seven schools in all.

30th AUG 2019

Visit to old age home

Community service is an integral part of education at Dayawati

Modi Academy. Keeping the trend of serving others and to

inculcate the values of kindness, empathy, humility and

leadership in our youth the school organized a visit to Abha

Manav Mandir, an old age home situated in Ganganagar,

Meerut. 40 students accompanied by 5 teachers paid a visit to

the old age home carrying thoughtful gifts for the veterans.

The children presented them the lovely handmade cards,

sweets and flowers and also addressed them as dada, dadi.

The handkerchiefs which the students gifted to the

grandparents had a personal “I love you” note written on

them. The sparkling eyes and cheerful smiles were enough to

convey how delighted the elderly were to spend some time

with the little ones. The small gifts which the children carried

were appreciated by all . The elderly appreciated the initiative

taken by the institution.

Ridhima(VII-B) won Silver Medal and Aadi Chauhan (IX-A) won Bronze Medal in the 2nd District Meerut Yoga Sports Championship

2019 at the AdhyayannPublic School, Meerut

10th Aug 2019

DMAites proved their mettle in the 4th UP State Yogasan Championship 2019 organised at Radha Govind Public School, Meerut.

Kavita Chaudhary(VII-D) won the Gold Medal, Vijyant Chaudhary(IX-D) Aadi Chauhan(IX-A), Samarth Swami(VII-G) bagged the

Silver Medal, while Jiya Bamnia(VII-D) won the Bronze Medal.

11th – 18th Aug 2019

Vansh Chaudhary(IX) qualified for Pre-National in 10 m Air Pistol category while Navishtha Tiwari(VII) won the Bronze Medal in 10

m Air Pistol in the 42nd UP State Shooting Championship 2019 at Droacharya Shooting Range, Meerut.

16th Aug 2019

Inter House Basketball Competition was organized to boost the talent of the budding basketball players. In the final round of

competition, Tagore House secured the Top Position beating Patel House 8-4.
