Introduction

A big welcome to my “7 amazing benefits of the 5:2 diet”. The 5:2 diet is something I have personally tried and I like the idea of it for those that have a hectic social life or for those that don’t want to diet around the clock.

In fact I often think of my parents when I think of people that would make the ideal candidates.

Wine is their staple – like so many other people in their 50’s/60’s and because they are out all the time with friends following a diet is always hard work.

But they are always in a couple of days a week and because they feel so rubbish from what they have eaten on these days they eat very little. And it also gives them a chance to detox from the wine!

In these cases by having at least two days a week when you are well behaved is a perfect way to fix your diet and lose some weight at the same time.

Personally though, when I experimented with it, things didn’t work out and I didn’t lose any weight and the reason for this is because the rest of the week I wasn’t eating enough!

The idea behind the 5:2 diet is to eat a quarter of what you normally eat. And I didn’t know this when I tried it and ended up going from 1200 calories to 500 and it wasn’t a big enough impact and didn’t bother chopping ¾’s of my calories as living on 300 calories a day would just seem too dangerous.

BUT if you are averaging 2500 calories a day like many people I know that follow it that would result in 625 calories a day and good weight loss. So just think about how you eat, what you eat and look at it as a good option.

From My Weight Loss Dream

This is Samantha at MyWeightLossDream.co.uk and I wanted to introduce you to our mission and why these PDFs are of great use to you.

They are short PDFs that provide you with information about a particular form of

exercise or diet. And offer a great introduction to a subject.

Like many people before us we have found ourselves to be obese and are doing everything we can to avoid dieting but to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

So far our progress has been good.

I have gone from a BMI of nearly 35 down to a normal one and Dominic (my hubby and partner in my weight loss mission) has dropped from a BMI of just over 40 to a more respectable 32. Of

course, we are no where near the end of our journey but we are a healthy lifestyle in progress.

You can read all about our current weight loss by clicking here.

When we look back at our fat photos we don’t think about how big we were (even though we were massive!) we think about how unhealthy we were and how much horrible food that was stuffed with chemicals was entering our body.

Don’t get me wrong – we STILL adore McDonalds, Pizza Hut & KFC but we just enjoy them in moderation and eat more healthy foods and do regular exercise (most of the time!)

Below on the next page is an infographic where we share our top tips for those of you that are considering trying out the 5:2 fasting diet.

Print it off, share it, add it to your Pinterest account or share it with your friends. The sky is the limit in what you do with it!

Then on the page after we have shared the infographic in written format so that you can print it or keep the ideas for future use.

7 Amazing Benefits Of The 5:2 Diet

1. It aids in weight loss

Fast weight loss is the most obvious benefit of the 5:2 diet. Since you fast two days a week, you'll take in fewer calories.

2. It speeds up metabolism

The 5:2 diet is based on intermittent fasting, a popular practice that speeds up metabolism and helps your body burn more calories at rest.

3. It provides steady energy through the day

Intermittent fasting will increase your energy levels and prevent insulin spikes. As a result, you'll have constant energy through the day.

4. It lowers high blood pressure

The 5:2 diet can help reduce blood pressure by as much as 10%. This is particularly beneficial to those with borderline hypertension.

5. It increases human growth hormone (HGH) levels

Intermittent fasting has been shown to increase HGH levels, which helps build muscle and delays aging.

6. It regulates blood sugar levels

Research indicates that intermittent fasting is one of the best ways to keep your blood sugar levels stable and improve insulin sensitivity.
