Amen.

generationCalvary tumblers & tote bags are here! Grades 6-12 If your child hasn’t received their tumbler or tote bag yet, have them see their youth leader. If you would like to help offset the cost, simply return the donation envelope sent home with your child. $5 will cover the cost of the tumbler. Important Note: Please remind the kids not to pour hot cocoa down the bathroom sinks or drinking fountains. It causes serious issues with backing up the drains. Thanks!

Offering: An Act Of Worship Do you celebrate when you drop a check in the mail, or EFT a payment to a bank or company? Neither do I. But I do when I drop a check or an EFT into the plate during the worship service. WHY? Because I am worshipping our Lord!!! Please consider that thought right now before the plate comes by you today, and later in November when you make your preparations for GIFT Sunday.

GIFT Weekend Nov. 22-23 Coming the weekend of November 22 & 23, we will have an opportunity to place on the altar our Estimate of Giving for 2015 as an act of worship and growing discipleship. This is a very tangible way that we are each called to be “doers of the Word.” It is important that you are with us that weekend as we express commitments to growing in our generosity, which is fundamental to Calvary’s mission and growth today and into the future. Your generous giving matters to God, and we trust that you will prayerfully consider taking a “step up” in your giving for 2015 towards or beyond a tithe (Biblical model of giving 10% of income to God’s work). Thank you in advance. We are truly Blessed to be a Blessing!
Coffee in Church Please be aware that we require all drinks taken into the Sanctuary at both campuses to have lids. This is not only to keep our facility looking great, but also to protect people from having hot drinks spilled on them. Cups and lids are available in the coffee area. Staff Contact: Deborah Robitaille
Alexander Zonjic We will be hosting a Jazzy Christmas Concert again this year to benefit Blessings In A Backpack. The event will be on Sunday, Dec. 14 , at 4 pm.
*There will be no packing of backpacks for Blessings In A Backpack during the months of
November and December.*

Pontiac Campus Update Frustration...exasperation...disappointment… confusion...anger...sadness. Yes, I feel all these things to a greater or lesser degree in response to the recent landscaping theft at our orchard in Pontiac. I’m sure you do as well, but I want to make sure that the situation and the outlook are clear to everyone. No display of vandalism or destruction was
present. Our neighbors, who could shed no light on the
event, are also saddened. We are an additional year from harvesting fruit and this affects them directly.
Evidence clearly shows that the work was done carefully and knowledgeably to preserve the trees.
I direct my utmost thanks to John Kelley who discovered the loss when he arrived for his weekly “pilgrimage” to mow the lawns -- a task which he, alone, undertakes. He serves willingly, but I would like to see company with him and relief for him at regular intervals. This variety of volunteers shows our commitment level in the community. I invite our membership everywhere to participate in our bi-weekly activities at this campus next year, either tending or celebrating. Our leadership team knows that there are many demands on your time, but, when you are able to consider it, please prioritize this location. You will be blessed beyond your expectations. Consider swinging by any time you travel Woodward or Martin Luther King Blvd. -- to take a spin on the cyclone, swing on the swing, walk among the trees, or smell the flowers. These things are noticed and appreciated. Please remember to pray regularly for our Pontiac campus, our ministry there, and our neighbors. Vigilance is essential to participation in this community. While Pontiac is out of sight and out of mind for many, it should not be out of our thoughts. Edmund Burke said it best: All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. We would love to have your help on Community Impact Day for planting and fall cleanup. Ministry Leader: LeAnne Schmidt

Something More Bible Study Something More: Sunday Morning Growth Group Join us as we begin a new study on Sunday, November 22 in the church library immediately following 9:30 worship. For the next several weeks we will be reading and studying together Adam Hamilton’s Making Sense of the Bible: Rediscovering the Power of Scripture Today. Please order your own copy at either amazon.com or thewell.cor.org then grab a cup of coffee and join in our discussions that will include difficult questions asked by Christians and non-Christians alike. Contact Clark & Paula Harris at [email protected] with questions.
Sunday Bible Studies We currently have a Sunday morning Bible Study group called “Something More.” It is an adult Bible Study growth group meeting after the 9:30 am worship service. It would be great to start groups meeting after 8:15 am and 11:00 am worship services as well. If you are interested in facilitating leadership with a Sunday morning Bible study group at either of these times, please contact Debbie Heierman.
