Greetings! I would like to share a word of encourage-ment on Catholic Family Sharing Appeal—2018.

Thank you for your yearly generosity to this appeal, it makes a great difference to our diocese and the local church.

Our assessment this year is $113,900 and to date we have a pledged amount of $112,700 with cash on hand of $97,150. We have had 32% of our families par-ticipate. We are still looking for 100% participa-tion from our parish. If we did have this kind of participation, we could take care of three years of CFSA!

This is a gentle reminder to those who have yet to make their contribution, to please mail your pledge cards into the office or place your donation in the col-lection. If you have misplaced your card, please let the office know and they will send you a new card or you may mark an envelope CFSA-2018 and place it in the collection basket. Remember the amount above our goal stays with the parish for our own needs. We exceeded our goal last year by close to $10,000!

Remember, the sooner we get this taken care of the less I have to talk about or make announcements from the pulpit. I know how much you love announce-ments! God bless you and thanks.

The Gospel for the 6th Sunday of Easter is the same Gospel reading for my ordination to the priesthood. Two things that stick out: 1). God choses you to bear fruit that will last and God calls each of you by name in a way that no others are called. We need everyone of you to build up the church. And, 2). God wants us to be filled with joy! God wants our joy to be com-plete. If you find yourselves without joy, where has it gone?

Carry these two points with you this week and pass them on to one another. “This I command you: love one another.” Peace and prayers! Fr. Mark

Pick-A-Pipe Progress

Throughout the Pick-A-Pipe fundraiser, there have been 167 pipes picked for a total of $29,875.00 raised. If you are interested in donating to Pick-A-

Pipe, there are donation forms located at the en-trances of the church and at the parish office. The deadline for engraving is May 15. Pipes will still be available to be picked after that, but no names will go on those.

Follow our pipe organ’s building progress at http://jfnordlie.com/sacred-heart-aberdeen/

Friday, June 1st You may drop off your donations on Wednesday, May 30th and Thursday, May 31st from 3:00-7:00pm at the Roncalli Elemen-tary School Gym. The rummage sale will run from 7:00am to 7:00pm on Friday June 1.

NEW IRA ROLLOVER! Help further your mission. Direct your IRA distribu-tion to the charities that matter the most to you. If you are 70½ or older, avoid taxes on IRA rollover distributions made directly to Aberdeen Catholic Foundation. This IRA rollover will count towards your required minimum distribution. Contact me to learn how you can use this distribution to make an impact for the ministries you are passionate about! Contact David Vetch at 605-218-0072 for any questions.
