ZF5HP19/19FLNo Reverse Before or After OverhaulAllMarch, 2013
Technical Bulletin #1518
ZF5HP19/19FLNo Reverse Before or After OverhaulA ZF5HP19 experiencing a no reverse before or after overhaul may be caused by a faulty MV3 (N90) solenoid.
The first step is to unplug the transmission harness. If reverse applies it may be a bad tiptronic switch or inhibitor switch. If reverse fails to engage switch the MV2 (N89) and MV3 (N90) solenoids with one another as a test (Figure 1).
If reverse comes back, but a problem in any of the forward ranges now occurs, switch the solenoids back and replace the MV3 with new solenoid.

42,46,47,48RE/RHPressure Regulator Valve Vacuum CheckLocationChryslerMarch, 2013
Technical Bulletin #1519
42,46,47,48RE/RHPressure Regulator Valve Vacuum Check LocationChecking for wear on the pressure regulator valve is best done with vacuum test stand. It is always best to start a log of vacuum test reading for each test location. Everyone may have their own pass/fail results. Just remember the higher vacuum reading the better condition the bore is in.
Note: Test port “A” will always test low vacuum because the size of valve, testing two areas and casting contact to valve is thin.
Average good test results are: A = 10”Hg, B = 18”Hg, C = 18”Hg, D = 18”Hg, E = 18”Hg, F = 18”Hg

42, 46, 47, 48RE/RHThrottle Valve Vacuum Test LocationChecking for wear on the throttle valve is best done with vacuum test stand. It is always best to start a log of vacuum test reading for each test location. Everyone may have their own pass/fail results. Just remember the higher vacuum reading the better condition the bore is in.
Note: When testing port “A” (Figure 1) a small piece of O-ring or rubber is need to aid the seal of test plate (Figure 2).

Figure 3
You can make a test tool out of a spare TV valve and attach to a piece cooler line by grinding the stem of valve down (Figure 3). With the cooler line as a handle you are able to move the valve into its work-ing position to get a good vacuum test reading.
Average good vacuum test at location “A” is 15” Hg.

Technical Bulletin #1521
6F35Harsh 1-2 Shift, 2-3 Flare, Delayed/Harsh 1st EngagementThese concerns may be present in the 2009-2010 Escape, 2010 Fusion, 2009-2010 Mercury Mariner or 2010 Milan with no DTC’s in the PCM. Ford recommends reprogramming the PCM with the latest calibration. Refer to Ford bulletin #11-2-8.

4T65ETCC Function While In Displacement ModeGMMarch, 2013
Technical Bulletin #1522
4T65ETCC Function While In Displacement ModeA common call late model GM cars equipped with a 4T65E transmission and DOD (displacement on demand). The concern is the TCC slip rate is higher than normal at highway speeds. There are no trou-ble codes being set in any modules.
A good example is a 2007 Impala SS 5.3L with DOD. The PCM will cut 4 cylinders at highway speed to conserve fuel. While in displacement manage mode the PCM allows the converter to slip 200-300 RPM at approximately 2% throttle. Allowing the converter to slip more reduces torsional vibrations throughout the vehicle.
During the 8 cylinder mode, at a higher throttle percentage the PCM may cancel lockup altogether or pull the TCC slip RPM down to a lower normal operation. The amount of TCC slip rpm in the 8 cylinder mode will depend upon vehicle speed and load.
This is a normal PCM program function and no correction is needed (Figure 1).

6F50/6F55Slip on Acceleration from a Stop Followed by a Bump Feel2009-2011 FordMarch, 2013
Technical Bulletin #1523
6F50/6F55Slip on Acceleration from a Stop Followed by a Bump FeelFord has introduced a valve body modification and PCM calibration change to correct these concerns. The vehicles effected are the 2009 Flex, 2010-2011 Taurus and Edge, 2011 Explorer, 2009 Lincoln MKX, 2010-2011 MKS, MKT and MKX. It is recommended to replace the separator plates with updated plates (hole eliminated), removing a check ball from the valve body and reprogramming the PCM with the latest update.
