  • 1. 6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

2. 6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? The first thing I learnt on Photoshop was how to edit an image to change the saturation, contrast or the shadow and make it brighter or darker so that it would fit into the background of my magazine and the overall page and to make the image look more appropriate and sharper. I did this with all of my images so that they looked different from how they looked when I took them. I also cropped all of my images so that the main focus of my magazine was the person or subject, not the background. 3. 6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? I also learnt how to cut an image out from its background using the Magnetic LassoTool on Photoshop. This meant that some of my images could be clearer and so that I could layer them on top of a different coloured background. Previously I had used the MagicWand tool, but I found the Magnetic Lasso to be much more accurate when splitting the image from its background. 4. 6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? I learnt how to tilt boxes and images so that they were more interesting for the audience and how to add a stroke or shadow to them so that they had a different effect on the page. 5. 6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? The main technologies that I learnt were from In Design, as I had never used that programme before yet I had used Photoshop many times. Therefore when I started using In Design there was a lot of features that I needed to know about before creating my double page spread. First, I learnt how to add a coloured box that I could use as a banner for my title, as well as learning how to rotate them and send them backwards so that I could place them behind images on the page. 6. 6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? I learnt how to place texts into columns and add drop capitals to make the writing look professional and as close to a real magazine as possible. I also learnt how to add strokes on In Design to texts so that they stand out from the background. 7. 6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? I learnt that that to have a background I would have to add a shape to the background and so I experimented with different colours that I could use to go behind the image and part of the title and eventually decided on black. 8. 6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? I learnt how to add an image as the background of my texts and to change it into black and white and make it slightly transparent, so that it looked interesting but also clear enough that the text can be seen and read easily.
