Linear Equations
An equation whose graph is a line is a linear equation.Ex. y = 3x – 4
The y-intercept is the y-coordinate of the point where the line crosses the y-axis.
The slope-intercept form of a linear equation is y=mx + b
Finding the Slope & Y-Intercept
Ex. y = 3x – 5
Ex. y = -2x + 1
Ex. y = 7/6x – ¾
Writing the Equation
