VOLUME 1, ISSUE 1 MARCH 2012 CHEBOYGAN, MICHIGAN The 61st Annual Meeting of the Straits Area Federal Credit Union was held on March 8, 2012, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Cheboygan. The doors opened at 6:00 p.m. as approximately 500 people arrived to enjoy a delicious meal of ham, au gratin potatoes, garlic green beans with slivered almonds, tossed salad and dinner rolls. This scrumptious feast (catered by Manzana’s of Onaway) was topped off by a choice of chocolate or yellow cake. A brief business meeting followed with reports from our CEO, Cindy Harrison, the President of the Board, Harold Borowicz, the Credit Committee, and the Supervisory Committee Chair, Jerry Taylor. Kelly Alexander, of Mackinaw City, was welcomed to the Board to serve a three year term, filling the vacancy left by departing Board member Kathleen Hart. Billy Jewell was our Master of Ceremonies for the evening, entertaining us through dinner and announcing the winners of our numerous door prizes! Winners of the children’s prizes were: Joshua Mollen-$75.00, Jordan Heath-$50.00, Cheyanne Friday-$50.00, Rachel Swiderek - $25.00, Christopher Harmon - $25.00, Serena Diekman - $25.00, Dakota Friday - $25.00 and Taylor Hebert - $25.00. The adult winners were: Dale Armantrout - $300.00, Jean Knaffle - $200.00, Ann Armantrout - $100.00, Angela Paquin - $100.00, Bernard Beethem - $50.00, Ralph Pruder - $50.00, Carol Hebert - $25.00, Debbie Barber - $25.00, Dale Trower - $25.00, Randy Enos - $25.00, Bonita Preseau - $25.00, Judy Chimner - $25.00, Helen Bergstrom - $25.00 and Bea Armantrout - $25.00. “Thank You!” to all our members who spent the evening with us.
