    Amendment 1: Cleaning

    Cleaning of the apartment should be divided into two sets of responsibilities that will be completed weekly,

    most likely during the weekend. Responsibilities will be elucidated in appendix one.

    Amendment 2: Use of Vacuum, Cleaning Supplies, Paper Towels and Toilet Paper

    Clean the filter of the vacuum cleaner before use. Cleaning supplies should be stored in the common closet and they are to be shared. Paper towels and toilet paper will be shared and replenished in turns. Purchasing turn will be

    remembered by Brian.

    Amendment 3: Food and toiletries, Kitchen equipment, Dish towels, Cabinet space, Closet

    Space

    Food and toiletries belong to the person who brought them into the apartment unless it is agreed thatitems should be shared.

    All kitchen equipment should be shared. During the doing-of-the-dishes (as stipulated in amendment 4),equipment will be cleaned and replaced in the general vicinity of where it was originally found. Ifkitchen equipment is broken it should be replaced with an item of equal value.

    Carlo will wash dish towels as they get funky. If a dish towel is used to clean up something especiallynasty, i.e. of or related to the body, responsibility for cleaning it will fall to the user.

    Cabinet space will be divided based on need and a belief in sharing everything 50/50. Common closet space will be divided based on need and a belief in sharing everything 50/50.

    Amendment 4: Dishes

    The dishes used in preparing and eating food should be washed, dried and put away after eating, or whenconvenient.

    Amendment 5: Use of Common Spaces

    It is accepted that common space is needed for eating, studying, calisthenics and entertainment. If oneroommate requests quiet in these spaces for any of these purposes the other roommate should do his best

    to maintain a library level of noise.This applies also to television viewing. A headphone jack isavailable on Carlos television and should be used if one roommate is trying to entertain himself while

    another studies.

    Amendment 6: Use of Private Rooms

    Barring illegal activity, roommates can use his private space for whatever he damn-well pleases, withinthe limits of the quiet hours stipulated in the roommate agreement. Excessive noise emanating from

    private rooms will be dealt with in negotiation, on a case-by-case basis.

    Amendment 7: Carlo loses his mind

    At certain times during the semester Carlo may exhibit odd behavior. Excessive fried chicken, pizza,coffee and pastry, and nicotine gum consumption may ensue, combined with noticeable declines in hispersonal hygiene and attention to cleanliness/general health. This behavior should persist for no more

    than eleven consecutive days per semester.

    Amendment 9: Media

    All books, DVDs, CDs, magazines, video games, and gaming systems that are left in common areasshould be available for examination, use, sharing and extended loan between roommates.

    Amendment 11: Fire Detritus

    The clearing away and disposing of ashes and detritus associated with having a fire in the fireplaceshould be the responsibility of the combustor.

    Amendment 12: Finals week contingency

    During periods of extreme duress, like finals week, the roommates maintain the right to suspendelements of this roommate agreement to pursue academic excellence. The finals week contingency

    should be reserved for periods when exigency is demanded in the face of uncontrollable circumstances

    and not for weekly or monthly deadlines. Entering and exiting a period of finals week contingencyshould be a mutual agreement between roommates.
