Get happyEasier said than done, right? But it’s really hard to find your passion if you feel stuck, drained or miserable in your job. You end up on the couch trapped and feeling blerggggghhh, and progress seems to be something that will happen...tomorrow.

But trying to find your passion and your happiness when you feel down is like trying to lose weight on a diet of chili cheese fries and ice cream (yummmm...ice cream). So to start this whole process, let’s boost your energy!

To start:Make a list of all of the things that you love that give you energy. Things like...

1. Dancing to Bon Jovi (this could just be us).2. Taking a walk outside every day.3. Emailing a friend and connecting with someone you love (this will actually lower your

stress, pretty nifty right?).

Now you go!1. _______________________________________________

Now pick something off of this list, and do it ...

every day*Doing this will make it easier for you to have fun doing the passion process...if you skip it we hear that puppies will be sad.

Make a list (of things that you have loved over time)

The past informs the present. And while people change, we don’t often change that much. What you used to love is probably something that still interests you (or points to something that does!). So take a moment, grab some coffee, and think about what you used to love and still *maybe* think about. Sports? Photography? Helping people (in a specific way).

What makes you happy? What have you been thinking about periodically? Teaching yoga? Stepping up and leading something? Training? What?

Make another list(of things that you are drawn to now)

What are you googling (besides Facebook and Twitter and the news)? Open up your browser history and notice a few things:1. What websites are you drawn to?2. Why? What do you like about them and what are you learning from them?3. What trends or themes do you notice?

What makes you feel strong? There’s a difference between your strengths and feeling strong. Strengths are things that you are good at (organization, powerpoint, analytical thinking). Feeling strong is the place where your strengths overlap with things that you actually like doing.

We are good at organizing meetings, but we feel strong when we write + help people. So, writing blog posts that give career advice is an area of feeling strong for us (us = Christie + the RevClub team + our extra personalities).

Ok, let’s talk work valuesWork values are soooo not ethics. Ethics are things like working hard. Work values, in this situation, are things that you NEED to be happy in your work life. If you need a dark room and no talking then BAM, that’s a work value. If you need a window and the ability to see people then BAM, work value. If you need freedom to figure out your tasks without your manager telling you stuff, then YES! work value. There is no judgment in work value land, this is just a place for you to be honest about what you need to make yourself happy.

What are your 5 biggest work values and WHY?

(NO JUDGMENT HERE. So if you find yourself judging yourself...then consider your wrist slapped. This is about what makes you happy!) Usually, if you are unhappy at work it’s because some of your values are out of whack with your organization. Anytime you think about a job, think about how many of your values are being met.

Need more help with the right questions to ask on passion or how to determine your values? No problem! We cover all of that in Zero to Passion right over here (click).

Looking at this diagram, what I’ve learned is: _____________________

+ Values means that work I love is:______________________________YAY! YOU DID IT! (Time for a celebration dance).
