Production Reflection
Alisha Harrison
Process• I have opened up
Photoshop.• Set the page to the size I
need to make my magazine front cover.
Front Page
Process• I have saved the
document so I can reopen it
Process• I have added a yellow
banner at the top,I have done this as I wanted my magazine to include some sort of competition this is an online one the code is within the magazine and the banner is saying to go to that website.
Process
Process• I have added in some text
so the audience can get a gist of what's inside the magazine
• This is to make them want to read inside it and to make them buy it
Process• I have added in a price
because everyone wants o know the price.
Process• I have put in a red banner
to make the price stand out.
• This makes I easier for people to see it so they wont have to ask a member of staff for the price in the shop.
Process• I have taken some
pictures and put them onto my memory stick.
• I have opened one of the pictures in Photoshop.
Process• I am using the clone tool
to get rid of the boy sat on the wall.
Process• I have placed the image
as the background image for my magazine front cover.
• I have noticed that some of the text I put onto the page before the background ahs disappeared its gone behind the layer.
Process• I have dragged the layers
over the background image in order for the text to be over the image because that’s the background image.
Process• I have used the text tool
to create my magazine title.
• I have changed the font and colour to make it stand out.
Process• I have added in a picture
of a camera, I think this works well because its in a good position and it goes with the photography theme.
Process• I have started to add
pictures for a wedding photographer advert.
Process• I have added in some
more pictures at the bottom.
• I like the idea of this because its adding more into the magazine.
Process• I have added in a yellow
border around the pictures to make it stand out.
ProcessI have added text into the banner.
Process• After putting the pictures on
at the bottom I decided most of my background image had disappeared behind it.
• I then clicked on the background layer and moved it up.
• There is now less sky but you can see the wall again.
• I like the background image like this because you can see more of the angle and where the image was took
Process• I have moved some text
up so I can fit some more on the page.
Process• I have added another
little paragraph for text.• I have done this to make
people want to read more.
• To make them want to buy this magazine.
Process• I decided to add in
another little block of text• I did this to try and fill in a
gap.• Also to make the
reader/buyer read and buy this photography magazine.
Process• I have set up a blank page
for my photography magazine double page spread.
Double Page Spread
Process• I have changed the
background colour to blue with faded corners that have white in because on my front cover most of its blue because of the sky.
Process• I clicked on the view
button at the top to show the rulers.
• By showing the rulers this will help me to keep everything in line, neat and tidy.
Process• I added this ruler in order
to see where the middle of the page is.
• This is so I don’t cover over where the page will fold.
Process• I have added more rulers
because I will be putting pictures and text in.
• I have done this because it will help me keep everything in line and neat.
Process• I have added a picture
into my photography magazine.
• A picture I have a taken.
Process• I placed in an un edited
picture that I took.
Process• I then opened up the
same picture in Photoshop.
• I cropped the photo.
Process• I then used the levels tool
to brighten up and give more colour to my photo.
• I think this looks good because it makes the image have more colour the image looks warmer.
Process• After editing the photo I
then placed it into the double page spread under the image that’s not edited.
• I added before and after text in red so the readers know which image is edited and which image isn't edited.
Process• I then decided that I
needed to add more guide lines.
• I did this in order to keep my double page spread neat and tidy.
• By keeping everything inline it will look tidier so the audience/readers will be able to read clearly.
Process• I opened up another
image I took my self into Photoshop.
• I used the clone tool to get rid of the people.
• The image has now began to look tidier.
Process• I cropped this image
because it had to much black sky I just wanted the fireworks.
Process• I decided the image
needed something else more colour.
• I went onto the brightness and contrast button and moved the sliders to adjust the image I wanted the red bright so I put the brightness all the way up.
• I really like how the image looked but I still decided it needed a little extra colour.
Process• Once I decided it still
needed something extra I then went onto the vibrancy tool and made it even more redder by using the sliders and sliding all the way up until I decided I liked the image.
Process• And of course once I
decided the image was perfect I put it into my double page spread under the none edited picture.
• I placed in a picture of Kelly that I took in the studio to demonstrate portrait images.
Process• I placed an image of Kelly
into Photoshop that I took of her.
Process• I cropped the image to
have her the main focus.• I don’t think the audience
would have been interested in the white background.
Process• I wanted to make the
image black and white• I used the black and
white colour tool to make the image black and white.
• The reason I choose to do this image in black and white is to show different techniques in my photography magazine.
Process• I decided to change the
brightness and contrast I wanted the image brighter.
• I used the sliders.
Process• I put the image onto my
double page spread under the none edited picture.
Process• I noticed that the guide
lines weren't even so I changed that and moved the pictures about.
• I also added in a photo of a landscape that I took.
Process• I put a photo into
Photoshop that I took.• I then used the blur tool
to get rid of reflections as the image was took through a car window.
Process• I changed the colour
balance I added a little bit of red to make the image feel warm.
Process• I changed the brightness
and contrast of the image using the sliders.
• I thought the image was a bit dull that’s why I used the brightness and contrast sliders.
Process• I then selected a certain
area of the image, the (grass)
• I selected, modify then feather and typed in 100
• Then I changed the colour of the grass slightly by giving it more green.
Process• I have added text to go
with the first two pictures I have talked about the editing tools I have used I have put some bits in red because there the important pieces of information. I will be repeating this for all 4 sets of images.
Process• I have added a text box to
write about another set of pictures before and after.
• I think if I keep repeating this for all the images it will be good for the readers because each picture has been edited different, they will know how to go and take a pic and edit it there selves.
Process• I then began to add more
text changing the important bits to the colour red.
• I also noticed one title for an image (Landscape) was black so I changed it to red.
• I want everything to be neat and tidy.
Process• I added more text to go
with another pair or photos.
• I changed the font colour to red on the most important parts in the text to make it stand out so show the readers that’s the most important part.
Process• I added more text to go
with another pair of photos.• I changed the most
important bits of information to the colour red to make them stand out in order for the reader to know that’s an important piece of text
• I then took the guidelines out because I thought it looked finished.
Process• I thought that my title
looked to squished to the top of the page, so I moved it.
Process• I decided to add a piece
of text in the right hand corner.
ProcessContents Page
ProcessI set up a new Photoshop document. This is going to be my contents page.I added a black banner across the top of the page using the shape tool and the fill tool to make it black. I have also put on text in white.
Process• I have opened up a photo
I took into Photoshop
Process• I have used Photoshop to
change the brightness and contrast of this photo.
• I think the picture looks a lot better now than with no edit, the brightness and contrast sliders have made the image look a lot more brighter and have more colour its made the image look more appealing.
Process• After editing that photo I
placed it onto my contents page I placed on the right side because I think it looks good there.
Process• I added a red banner and
then added text and changed it to bold to make it stand out. I also changed it from black to white because I think it looks good.
Process• I then added numbers
down the side in between 2 guide lines to keep it neat and tidy.
• The numbers are in red because I wanted to match the red banner.
• I think this looks good because it stands out.
Process• I then added a number to go
on the picture to show that’s a special page.
• Again I put the number in red because it stands out I added black text to give a little piece of information about the picture but I noticed the black was hard to see on that picture so I added a white background just for the text so my audience can read it clearly without struggling .
Process• I added text to go with
each number I put at the side underneath “features”
• I did this to show what the numbers are on about because there page numbers.
Process• I added a grey banner
and typed text in for the next set of page numbers.
• By doing this the audience can just skim read to the page they want to read the most.
Process• I then added numbers in
grey down the bottom left side they are grey to match the grey banner to show that’s its about that topic.
• I like the idea of doing it like this so my audience can read clearly and find things easy.
Process• I then added text to go
with the page numbers to show that they are not just random numbers.
Process• I decided I wanted to add
some more set of page numbers down the left and side in order to do that I had to move everything up the page so I could fit some more on.
Process• I have added red numbers
down the side to match the red banner.
• The numbers are page numbers.
Process• I have added text to go
with the page numbers.
Process• I went up to the top of
page and selected view then selected rulers and dragged out a guide line in order to help me keep the text neat and tidy and all inline.
Process• I put a picture of some
magazines into Photoshop and removed the background using the select tool and the delete button on the keyboard.
Process• After removing the
background from the picture of the magazines I placed that image into my contents document.
Process• I then use the shape tool
and drew a black rectangle to go behind the photo of the magazines.
• I then added text in capital letters and changed the colour to white ad red to make different pieces of that text stand out.
Process• I added another rectangle
but this time a red one.• I placed it above the black
one then I added text again using different colours to make different pieces of the text to stand out.
• Its also in capital letters to show its important
Process
• I added some more
text where I had a gap.
Process• I thought I had finished.• I went back through and
checked for things that weren't in line.
• I also checked for things that had been misspelt and rearranged a few things in order to make my magazine contents page better.
Process• I have set up a page to
make my back page of my photography magazine.
Process• I placed in a picture of a
camera lens then I added a title to the page.
Process• I have added in another
photo of a camera. • I have done this to
advertise a camera.
Process• I changed the text to
Nikons actual logo the audience will recognise this logo and hopefully take more notice to this magazine.
Process• I added in another part of
Nikons logo.• I think having the actual
logo is the best thing to do because its their product been advertised.
Process• I decided to add in rulers
for guide lines to keep everything neat and tidy and not going of the page.
• This will look better towards the audience is everything is neat, tidy and clear.
Process• I added another guide
line in because I wanted to make sure the text at the top was inline with the bottom of the picture.
Process• Once I had got the text in
line with the bottom of the picture I took the guide line out because I know I wont be needing it again.
Process
• I added a little bit of text using the text tool to go with the two photos of the camera and the lens.
• I did this because I know my audience like text to go with pictures.
Process
• I added a bar code and took the guide lines out to see if everything looked ok and it does.
Process
• From looking at previous photography magazines I have noticed on the back at the bottom they have text about 2 lines long and smaller text font than the rest telling you the phone number address Facebook and twitter.
• So I have decided to do that to make it look very realistic
Process
• I have decided to make an improvement to my back cover for my photography magazine.
• I unlocked the background layer and put a colour over lay onto it I used the colour blue.
• I then used the slider to tone down the colour and add more white so it’s not as bright.
Process
• I went back and looked at my work I decided to make improvements to my double page spread by using my contents page.
Process• I added guide lines to
make it all neat and tidy.
Process• I added white boxes so
that the text is easier to read for the audience
Process• I put strokes onto some
of the text to make it stand out.
Process• My contents page is
now finished and improved.
