Circle of power In Swedish folkore all living things in the natural world were infused with power and magic at Midsummer. To harness this power and bring happiness and health, people tied flowers in wreaths. SKINA hanging decoration recalls this ancient tradition.

“My strongest memory of summer is of decorating the maypole with leafy branches, and wearing a wreath of flow-ers on my head. That’s why the SKINA series consists of curtains, wreaths and chains of light that you can wrap around things and decorate with. The coloured light adds to a pleasant party atmosphere and reminds one of the strong summer sunlight in Scandina-via. I hope everyone will be able to create a feeling of Midsummer in their home by decorating a parasol or a doorpost.”

“Rays of sunshine gleaming through leaves is something that gives a lovely summer feeling. That’s the feeling I wanted to capture with the leaf pattern in my SOMMAR textile collection. Us-ing the play between light and shadow as my starting point, I created a simple, clean graphic pattern. Then I combined colours from nature and clear colours, such as orange and turquoise, to give SOMMAR a fresh, sunny look. I want it to feel like you’re bringing a bit of summer home with you.”

“I wanted to make a charming, easy to place set with a table and two comfortable chairs. And I wanted it to have character. What’s unique about HEMSÖ are its propor-tions, and the fact that the chairs are made to fit in a corner, with the back legs positioned closer together - like a triangle. I was also inspired by circles and made the chair back like a happy sun. I want people to feel as if they’re on holiday, sitting outdoors at a café, even though they’re really enjoying a cold drink on their own patio.”

But I wanted to give everyone a sport-ing chance, which is why there’s even a built in escape route in the form of a little hole for quick and smart flies.”
