Lesson: Fast rewind Unit 3&4

Time: 50 minutes

Lesson (main) aims:

- to practice the notions taught in units 3&4

- to talk about routines

- to offer food and drink with would like

- to recognize the countables and uncountables nouns

- to use the verb have got with some and any

- to use properly going to future

- to develop the student’s reading, listening, writing and speaking skills

Subsidiary aims:

- to talk about food and drink

- to write a food diary

- to listen to a food programme

- to read about a day in the life of an animal film star

Anticipated language problems: Pupils/students could become a bit noisy when

working in pairs/groups; some of them (the dominant ones) may try to answer too

often and exclude the others. In some cases, pupils may not understand the task

given by the teacher;

Possible solutions: the teacher may ask pupils simultaneously to speak; He/She

may repeat the task in order to be clear for everybody;

Teaching aids: the manual, a handout, pupil’s notebooks, the blackboard;

Modes of interaction: teacher-student, student-student, group-work;

1st Activity

Aims: to use correctly the Present Simple Tense and Present Continuous Tense

Procedure: The pupils are asked to solve ex. 1, pag. 31 in which they have to

complete the sentences with the correct form of the verb in brackets and write the

times in words

Teacher’s role: observer

Skills: reading, writing, speaking.

Class management: individual work

Timing: 10 minutes

2nd Activity

Aims: To use correctly the Present Simple Tense and Prsesnt Continuous Tense

Procedure: The pupils are asked to solve ex. 2, pag. 31 in which they have to

choose the correct tense

Teacher’s role: observer

Skills: writing, reading, speaking

Class management: individual work

Timing: 5 minutes

3rd Activity

Aims: To use correctly some and any

Procedure: The pupils are asked to solve ex.3, pag.31 in wich they have to

complete the sentences with some and any

4th Activity

Aims: To use correctly the going to future

Procedure: The pupils are asked to solve ex. 4, pag.31in wich they have to

complete the sentences with the correct form of the going to future

Teacher’s role: observer

Skills: writing, reading, speaking

Class management: individual work

Timing: 10 minutes

5th Activity

Aims: to talk about food and drink

Procedure: The pupils are invited to choose the correct ending to complete the food

words, ex.5, pag.31

Teacher’s role: observer

Skills: listening, speaking

Class management: individual work;

Timing: 5 minutes.

6th Activity

Aims: To be able to create a conversation and mentain it

Procedure: The students are asked to reorder the sentences to complete the

conversation from ex. 6, pag.31 and to work in pairs on different themes which are

given at ex.7, pag. 31.

If they don’t manage to finish it remains as homework.
