Importance of Caffeine

Gone are the days of Bournvita, Milkshakes, Milo and Chocos. While completing a 9 hours shift, the only thing that can keep you up and running is a hot cup of coffee right when you reach your workplace.

No ME Time

Be prepared to look like what you usually looked like during exam days in your yesteryear’s. With crazy workload, be prepared to say adios to spa days and date nights. Also, there are barely 28 paid holidays allotted to you per annum so just pray that your weekends are off.

Prying Colleagues

Lack of me time is also accompanied with lack of privacy and inefficient cubicle etiquette’s. People sitting around you will try to keep a check on your personal and professional life.

Getting Bogged Down by the hierarchy

Sadly, if you’re a newbie, be prepared to work for long hours while your manager takes all the credit to impress “The Boss”. Don’t expect an “Atta boy!” from your superior, just work on building their trust so that you get the best projects to work on.

Office – High School for Adults

Believe it or not, an office is no different than high school. It’s filled with gossip mongrels; people still talk behind backs, popular employees stick together while a newbie ends up eating alone during lunch time.  It’s pretty much the same except your age.

Following Protocols

But, there’s one thing you’ll learn: ‘Work Ethic’. Following protocols and a code of conduct will come as second nature to you. You will understand how to respectfully behave with your superiors and juniors.
