TOURNAMENT PLAN AND DESIGN DOCUMENT

The goal of this document is to specifically outline and explain in detail the rules, regulations, and overall goals of the 5v5 tournament.

Tournament Schedule

No date and time are set yet, but it will be held on a Saturday afternoon to allow players from all regions to compete.

Registration

TBD

Victory and Disqualification Conditions

The event will be a single-elimination bracket tournament. Two teams will face off against one another, with the winning team moving on while the losing team is disqualified.

Group Setups and Class Availability

All classes and setups will be available with no restrictions. Some classes are glaringly more stronger than others, while some can fill a creative niche role. Limiting any one class suppresses player and setup creativity. Due to a FFA ruleset tournament, no classes will be excluded, leaving teams free to form what they think may be the most powerful or most fun group of five. Groups with multiples of the same class are acceptable. Additionally, all specs, Master Levels, and Champion Abilities for each class are acceptable.

For balance purposes around a 5v5 scenario, charmable pets up to Orange con are allowed, with red con pets being banned.

Buffs, buff bots, pots, and buff charges

Ideally, the Realm Enhancement NPC would give players capped (shearable) buffs for the event (excluding magic resist buffs, endurance buffs, power regen buffs, health regen buffs). In-group magic resists are limited to the group’s makeup and Champion Abilities. If a capped NPC buffer is unavailable, then buff bots will be allowed. Buff charges (from items), celerity charges, endurance pots (up to Strong Invigs), and heal pots are allowed. Additionally, heroism pots are also allowed, although Supremacy and Comprehension pots are banned.
