Kamran Ziauddin is a Business Continuity Practioner and Trainer with a unique blend of multi-functional process exposure across various industries like Banking and Finance, Brokerage, Real Estate & Property Management, Money Exchange, Merchant Acquiring, Power and Energy, IT and Information services, which gives him an edge on understanding specific customer needs and challenges.
Kamran brings in a professional experience of 25 years handling diverse projects related to Strategic Planning and Program Management, Quality and Change Management and Process Improvement with about 15 years spend with Business Continuity.
He has been actively working in different countries viz. UAE, Oman, UK, Iraq, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Sudan across three different continents, putting in place robust business continuity frameworks to meet the unique challenges growing of each of these markets, whether operational, regulatory, situational or reputational.
As a trainer, he has conducted 100 plus sessions to train over 2000 personnel on Business Continuity best practice methodology and implementation. He is currently based in the UAE and is an Associate Consultant for Management Services International (Pvt), Ltd, Sri Lanka.

Sudden vertical rise of the seabed by metres during the earthquake displacing massive water

There were no tsunami warning systems in the Indian Ocean to detect tsunamis
Oral traditions developed from previous earthquakes helped the aboriginal tribes escape the tsunami.

Card Frauds
Lessons Learnt:
Banks reduced the limits of Cards
Introduced Credit Card Transaction monitoring for fraudulent transactions
CCTV monitoring was made mandatory

Identity thefts
Hacking
Fraudsters were sitting in a South-East Asian country and withdrawing cash from ATM in UAE

Lessons Learnt:
Closely monitor the scanning and storage process to eliminate loss of data.
Keep a back-up of all data in Soft version / servers for easy access
No storage of collaterals / original deeds with Outsourced Cos.

No one was injured
Served about 14 UAE Banks
Fire was doused by dropping water over the structure from above.

Lessons Learnt:
Within 30 minutes of being alerted to the accident, Flydubai’s Crisis Centre in Dubai mobilized its Emergency Response team
Family Assistance Team was established to communicate directly with bereaved families. As part of the long-term Family Assistance, each family has a dedicated Care Team member.

Hot sites and Command Centers should not be on the ground floor
