Have you ever had that feeling before leaving your state? That funny feeling in your stomach?

Well I still do and I know that I'll never forget my trip to Großkorbetha with my little comenius family. It all started on March 17 and it was Sunday. The bus was waiting for us in front the Ice hall. We departed at about 8 am. While we were driving, we had some stops for toilet and for someting to eat. We arrived at about 6 pm. The hostel was beautiful inside and outside and I still remember it. After we settled down and left our things in the hostel, we went to a restaurant nearby to dine. Our first dinner was delicious and a lot of fun. After eating up we went back to the hostel and into our beds. I was surprised that our first day was already over.

At about 9.00 we went to the school. We went in one of the classrooms and met the Hungarians and Germans. They were very nice and friendly I enjoyed talking to them. After we chatted for a bit they took us on a tour of their school. It was very new, so everything was nice and tidy. I thought the biology room was really interesting! Then we all had our power point presentations on a special fairy tale. The Hungarians presented a Legend About a Deer and the Germans presented Little Red Riding Hood. I thought they both did an astonishing job. We presented Mojca Pokraculja, which is a folk tale.

I think we did a good job, but we could still improve some things.

I felt the same about the other PPP.

Then we had lunch in the school cafeteria. I liked that you could chose from two different meals. At 13.00 we had a bus trip to Nebra and went to the sky disc museum. I was very happy with the tour of the museum because I have always been interested in ancient civilizations. After the tour we made our own skydiscs out of zink and I loved it. At about 18.00 we arrived to Weißenfels, where we had dinner and bowled. It was fun, then we headed back to our hostel in Bad Dürrenberg.

Sky disk museum,...it was a very good learning experience for me! Soon after, we went to the crafting room and made our own sky disc, but the first time didn’t work out so I had to do it over again. Later we went to the Weißenfels bowing alley. There, we had dinner and went bowling. I got a little bit frustrated at first because I didn’t get any strikes, but at least we had time to get to know everyone better.

Creating a sky disc was really fun, it was something I have never tried before.

In the morning, after we ate breakfast, we went to the town Naumburg. When we arrived, we went into a cathedral. It was very beautiful and classy. When the tour was over, we went to their workshop up stairs and carved leaves out of a type of rock. It was hard work but it was worth it.

It was my first time working with stone and I found it very interesting.

We used chisels. We had to wear a tunic and an apron. The room was full of dust and it had to be cleaned before we left.

After lunch, we went sightseeing around the town. It was lovely. Then we had some free time to go shopping. Later we went to the gym to have a taekwondo lesson.

At 8.45 a.m. we had a trip to Halle. There we visited the salt museum. I learned about its history and I think it was very educational. After the museum tour we made experiments with salt. The experiments were interesting and the thing I found most interesting was that if you mix salt with snow, the temperature of the salt drops about 10°C. Afterwards we also made salt by boiling sea water.

Then we went to see a college where we also had lunch. After lunch we went swimming to Maya Mare. Swimming was really fun; there were a lot of different pools and waterslides. We had a great time and we really laughed a lot.

...written by Urša Ferlež

Afterwards we had a farewell dinner in the same restaurant in Bad Dürrenberg. The teacher asked me and Neža if we could give our presents to the Germans. I had to give a speech and ... anyhow, we had a lot of fun and we laughed all the time. Then we went back to the hostel and said goodbye to each other and also took some photos.
