The ASEANpreneurs Idea Canvas (AIC) is not your ordinary take on a business plan competition. Started in 2007 by ASEANpreneurs, AIC boasts a flair of originality by incorporating the Business Model Canvas into the competition, distinguishing it from the conventional. Moving on from the 4th AIC which focused on social issues, we expand our horizons to welcome business ideas from any field. We also give you the opportunity to develop your idea as you progress through the three stages of the competition. The idea canvas round provides you with a unique opportunity to present your ideas in a creative and well organized manner, which can fetch you S$500. A quick video pitch using the 12-slide PowerPoint presentation helps you reach out massively to a pan-ASEAN audience through our YouTube channel. Team with the best pitch will take home S$ 1000. Finally the business plan gives you access to seasoned entrepreneurs and experienced mentors who will guide you through all your final considerations. The total prize money at stake here is S$ 24,500.

HistorySince its conception five years ago, the competition has budded into theBIGGEST BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITON in the ASEAN region, inspiringhundreds of entrepreneurs from Cambodia, Vietnam, the Philippines,Myanmar, Brunei, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore tobreak into the start-up scene, collaborate with one another, and enact atangible change in the world.
ASEANpreneurs fosters a climate of risk-taking and encouragesentrepreneurs to endeavor the improbable. Our past applicants have goneon to create better loans systems in the Philippines to create opportunitiesfor aspiring college students, invent braille instruments to help the visuallyimpaired measure physical quantities themselves, and program computerapplications to help poor rural health centers diagnose diseases moreefficiently. By connecting candidates that make it past the preliminary roundwith mentors that will offer valuable guidance throughout the competition,as well as in depth perspectives on business model improvement fromqualified judges, ASEANpreneurs aims to not just incentivize innovation witha generous sum of prize money but to nurture the creation of your businessevery step of the way.

Eligibility:• Open to participants of all ages• Teams must consist of 2 – 5 members• At least one member must be of ASEAN Nationality•
5th ASEANpreneurs Idea Canvas is open to entries from any field
• Submission:Teams must register on our website before sending in their submissions for each round at [email protected].

• Round 1: Idea Canvas and Executive Summary (Deadline: 5th Jan 2013)
• Round 2: 12 Slide PowerPoint Pitch (Deadline: 30th Jan 2013)
• Round 3: Business Plan (Deadline: 20th Mar 2013)

Prizes
• The winner of our final business plan round will receive a cash prize of S$ 2000 and seed funding worth S$ 6000.
• The winner stands a chance to get a direct entry to the semi-final round of Start-Up@Singapore, Singapore’s Premier Start-Up Challenge to compete with their semi-finalists of Biz Venture Challenge and stand a chance to win the grand prize of S$ 15000. • The runner up of our final business plan round will receive a cash prize of S$ 1500.
• The winner of our second round with the best video pitch will receive S$ 1000.
• The winner of our first round with the best idea canvas will win S$ 500.
