Camp Evacuation Plan

1- Camp Representative responsibilitiesReport broken equipment or leaking plumbing Arrange times and equipment for a service project Enforce no tents or parking in restricted areasLimit power usage (no roasters or microwaves)Check in & check out with camp host (1st in and last out)Enforce LDS church’s Standards of Conduct

as outlined in ”For the Strength of Youth” bookletTwo priesthood leaders in camp at all timesReport suspicious behavior to camp hosts

2- Fires Check with Camp Hosts for current fire conditionsIF fires approved, keep in main concrete fire pits only During fire restrictions, charcoal/propane acceptableNo candles, fireworks or fire sticksFire wood availability not guaranteed

3- Garbage Clean up around all camp sites before leavingBring your own large garbage bagsHaul all garbage to dumpster (if full, take it home) Do not leave garbage outside of dumpster

4- Camp Site Keep food in closed containers (no food in tents)No digging around tents, pruning, or cutting down treesNo firearms, fireworks, ATVs, or teen-age boys in camp Do not block roads or paths with tents or vehicles No tents on grass areas, parking lots, or trails

5- Kitchen Supplies Camp supplies cooking griddles and propaneBring your own pots, pans, and utensilsNo microwaves or roaster ovens (limited electricity)

6- Bathroom SuppliesWallsburg camp fees cover the following supplies:a. Toilet paper b. Bathroom hand towelsc. Bathroom hand soap d. Brooms, mops, and hosee. Final-day cleaning products and equipment

Check In (weekday = 9 am // Fri = 1 pm )1-Camp Representative meets with Camp Host for orientation 2- Review highlights of handbook, Challenge Course, and game reservations3- Pick up camp key and leave $50 refundable cleaning/key deposit

Check Out (weekday = 12 noon // Sat = 1 pm )1- Give Camp Host 1 hour notice prior to departure2- Camp Representative meets with Camp Host to review check out sheet3- Deposit will be returned after:

a. Camp Host check out b. Return of recreational equipmentc. Return of camp key

Camp locks up Saturday at 1pm / No Sunday campingPlease leave our beautiful camp cleaner than when you arrived!

Step 1A- Camp Representatives stay in contact with Camp Hosts via cell phoneB- Everyone gathers to central green area nearest your campC- Head count made (no one left behind) / carpool assignments made

Step 2A- All personnel evacuate to LDS church house in WallsburgB- Further information disseminated and camp status will be determined

Step 3A- If conditions permit, everyone returns to campB- If evacuation permanent, arrangements made for return to homes

Medical PreparednessWallsburg is located in a mountain canyon and consists of both forest and desert habitat. Prepare your first aid kits accordingly.

Anticipate seeing:>Deer, rabbits, stray sheep, and normal wildlife>Snakes, bobcats and bears (possible but rarely seen)>Ticks and bugs and spiders

Discourage campers from friending stray animals of any kind.

Challenge Course GuidelinesSpecial Activities Equipment

1- Reserve course at time camp is scheduled (or soon thereafter)2- Seven stations (20-30 minutes each / 5 min transitions ≈3-4 hours)3- Spring leadership training and walkthroughs required5- Let girls solve challenges (leaders not to interfere with process)6- Safety first! (Challenge Course Training Handbook available) 7- Follow trails / stay out of the center zip line area8- Challenge Course is OFF LIMITS for ALL other activities9- Required people= 6 for lower stations and 7 for zip line (13 total)

Two people at zip line need to be rope certified!~Certified Professionals mandatory~
