Accomplishments in 5G

• Two main goals: Coverage (LMLC) and Capacity

• LMLC Coverage

• Low PAPR waveform –pi/2 BPSK with spectrum shaping

• Doubles UE power without change in hardware, translates to larger coverage

• Capacity

• Maximize spectrum utilization - bits/sec/Hz

• A new type of Advanced Massive MIMO/Cloud RAN developed
