Thursday, July 25, 2013ARIES (March 21-April 19):

Nurture your important relation-ships and focus on home, family and your surroundings. Don’t make unnecessary changes, but do alter what will make your life better. Express your interests and desires and embrace feed-back with thought and courtesy.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20): Ex-press your thoughts and make plans with the people you cher-ish most. Visiting a friend will lift your spirits. Love is on the rise, and socializing or getting in touch with someone you care about will improve your life.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20): Put greater emphasis on how you earn your living or what you are

doing to raise your profile. Don’t be afraid to do things a little differently. It’s your diversifica-tion that will lead to success. A change will be beneficial.

CANCER (June 21-July 22): An emotional situation may be dif-ficult to decipher. What you see won’t give you a true assess-ment of the situation. Ask ques-tions and refrain from overreact-ing. Once you get the facts, you will see the benefits. Love is on the rise.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22): You can make changes, but don’t be too vocal about your plans. Some-one is likely to try to restrict you. A change of location, travel plans or gathering informa-tion that will help you advance

should be your focus. Don’t let love cost you.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): Size up your situation and make a move. You have more influ-ence than you realize, and you can overcome the pressures of anyone trying to slow you down. Conversations will put you in a good position and help you drum up additional support.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): You’ll face confrontations if you are too vocal. Go about your business, making sure you get chores out of the way to avoid criticism. Don’t push others or allow anyone to push you into something you don’t care to do.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): You really need a getaway or a

diversion to spark your creative imagination or enhance your love life. Dream and take action. It’s time to make things happen. Use your will coupled with desire and you will reach your goals.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): Put your time and effort into personal matters. Taking care of investments, medical conditions or legal matters will help stabilize your life. A change at home may not be welcomed, but it will prove to be beneficial.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): Strategy, hard work and utilizing your knowledge and experience will pay off. Physical self-improve-ments will result in compliments and a new lease on life. A part-

nership will enhance your future and bring about new opportuni-ties and greater prosperity.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): Assess your situation. Take a hard look at your finances and figure out what you must do to improve your current lifestyle. By utilizing your skills and the connections you have, there will be a unique way for you to make positive changes.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20): Network, socialize and expand your interests, and you will get ahead. Take the road less trav-eled and focus on the services you can offer your community in order to raise awareness as well as your profile. Greater prosper-ity is heading your way.

Dear Annie: I am a woman and am deeply at-tracted to a good friend, also female. We have begun watching a racy TV show together at my home, and it’s becoming very uncom-fortable for me to watch it with her. I fi nd myself won-dering whether I should instead offer to loan her the DVDs so she can watch them on her own. If so, do I need to explain why?

She has told me over the course of our friendship that she is eschewing ro-mantic relationships until she is in a healthier frame of mind, which I support, and that she plans to move in six months or so. I have a young son and am not in-terested in a temporary en-tanglement. I do not want to alienate my friend and am wondering what course of action is least likely to put a crimp in our friend-ship. — Crushing

Dear Crushing: Is it possible that your friend is interested in you romantically? If you think that might be the case, you should tell her that you are attracted to her and see what happens. However, if that is too emotionally frighten-ing and you fear it will end the friendship, you need to stop these incendiary “dates” in whatever way removes the intimacy from your get-togethers.

Offer her the DVDs and say that you are tired of watching this show. You could sug-gest an alternate TV program that is less racy or invite more people over so it’s not

only the two of you. You could meet at a lo-cal coffee shop or res-taurant to chat. You do not have to bare your soul to her if it makes you uncomfortable, but it means you must stop putting yourself in this compromising posi-tion.

Dear Annie: “Doing It Myself” asked for advice about his mother, who has dementia. She wanted to stay in her home.

I have told my children that I want to remain in my own home only if I can recognize it as my own and the information I give them is reliable. (Dementia pa-tients often report thievery or abuse when it does not exist.) Otherwise, I want to be in a nursing home. There is a much greater chance that abuse or neglect will be witnessed in a nursing facility. — Been There
