1SAP GUI user interface also called SAP presentation layer,

provides an interface to end users to access SAP..

Different SAP systems such as SAP ERP, SAP CRM, SAP

PLM)etc need to use SAP Logon Padto gain access to

    SAP.

By logging on to SAP, the system

recognizes who you are and what

    activities are allowed to perform.

    Configuring the logon pad

Can be done either by keying in specific data neededfor access or by asking your SAP system administrator

to copy a preconfigured list of SAP.

    Modifying the entry

To modify an entry that already exists in the SAPLogon Pad, right-click the SAP systems description and

    then select Properties.

Updating the SAP application server information

    SAP client,userID and Language

    STEP 1

To log on to SAP, on the main logon screen.

Type in the three-digit client number associated with the business group(or development team,or technical team) youre assigned to.

    STEP 2

Enter your unique SAP user ID.

All SAP users are assigned a user ID (although you might hear of factory, distribution site, orwarehouse workers sharing a single SAP user ID).

An SAP security specialist or systemadministrator assigns user IDs.

    STEP 3

If your organization requires multilingual SAPlogon capabilities, and

those particular languages have indeed been set up for your system, youcan specify a two-digit language code in the language box.

Your system will likely be configured to default to a standard languageforyour organization (such as EN for English).

1 Each time you connect to SAP via the SAPGUI userinterface, you begin a user session.

2You can have multiple sessions open with multiple SAP

componentssuch as SAP ERP, CRM, and so onor

you can open one or more sessions with a single

system.3 Because each session uses system resources, your

respective company will normally set limits to the

number of sessions that you and your colleagues can

    create.

4 One obvious benefit of this multiple sessionoption is multitasking
