Candidate Name: Charlotte Bracken
UNIT 57: PHOTOGRAPHY AND
PHOTOGRAPHIC PRACTISE
PROJECT PROPOSAL(P2, P3, M2, M3)
WHAT IS THE THEME?
The theme of the photographic proposal I am doing is the Architectural Exploration of Salford Quays
MOOD BOARD OF IMAGES OF SALFORD QUAYS
PREDICTED FINAL OUTCOME
I am going to produce 10 final images which I will edit and make look professional and I will pick these 10 final images from a wide range of 50-100 images I will have taken while being out with college at Salford Quays. Each shot that I will take will be thought about from composition, and other photographic terminology. Each image will be different.
REASONS FOR SELECTION OF THEME (INCLUDING INSPIRATION FROM THE
WORK OF OTHERS)
I want to take these images because I think it would make great pictures which are unique and are personal for me as it is where I know and is near me. The scenery is something that can look beautiful depending on which way you look it and how you look at it as everyone see’s Salford Quays to be not such a nice place. However, I hope to try and reveal the true beauty of Salford Quays with the means of a camera and possibly Adobe Photoshop.
INSPIRATIONAL WORK FROM OTHERS:
There are many different photographers which do amazing and beautiful landscape photographs but I have chosen two photographers who's photographs have caught my eye and looks interesting. Their work is something I will aspire to as I would like to get to that professional quality one day.
ANDREW BROOKS
Andrew Brooks is one photographer who I find inspirational. The majority of his photographs always look bright and stand out because they mainly standout. It makes you focus more on what’s within the image and you can look at its beauty and share with him what he saw even though he doesn’t stand in front of you explaining it. You can see it within the photograph and its ay professional standards. I want to be able to take photographs like he can which can amaze people by just the glimpse of an eye.
SIMON BUTTERWORTH
Simon Butterworth is an artist who takes landscape photos. He see’s the beauty in both urban and rural environments. Whether it be man made or not. Using Adobe PhotoShop it has been easy to edit the image to change the contrast and brightness and also the colours. This particular artist catches my eye as his photographs are so professional and just looking at them you see the beauty of what he was trying to capture.
THE PHOTO IMAGING EQUIPMENT AND MEDIUM THAT WILL BE USED AND WHY
For this specific camera shoot I will be a DSLR D3100. This particular camera is great for photos as it captures everything which you need to. It is easy to use and the zoom and focus is easy to use for long distance shots or close up shots.
DATE / TIME / LOCATION
The Salford Quays photographs will be taken 22nd January 2013 around 12’o’clock. I am hoping to get a wide variety of images for the brief set.
