cores and concentrators are based on standardfibre-optic cables for gigabit Ethernet – DHD's GAtechnology.

The 52/XC Concentrator is always dedicated to2one core and acts as APC port extension unit.

This design principle allows you to create truedistributed installations, where every part of thesystem is where it should be. The use of standarddata cables and structured cabling for the intercon-nection of DHD modules can dramatically reducethe overall system installation costs.

The 52/XC and 52/XD Cores and the 52/XC Con-2 2 2centrator provide common RJ45 ports for theconnection of control modules and I/O boxes. Here, standard CAT cables are used, carrying udio,A

P Cower and ontrol signals in the same cable –DHD's APC technology.

Thus, your setup benefits from the advantages ofcommon CAT cabling infrastructure which allowsyou to place I/O boxes and control modules any-where you need them.

All igabit udio and data connections betweenG AThe is our high-performance device for52/XD Core2all routing and mixing tasks, fitting in only 1 U.With the support of up to four DSP modules, the52/XD Core is powerful enough to master the most2demanding applications. The system can be used to process up to 64 fadersor to set up an audio routing system with a matrixsize of 8704 x 7424.

The specialised rock-solid hardware of 52/XC and252/XD Cores consumes very little power. The com-2bination with highly efficient external power suppliesconsiderably reduces the operating costs of a DHDsystem compared to products of other manufac-turers.

To ensure that your audio network keeps running atall times, the 52/XC and 52/XD Cores provide2 2extensive re features.dundancy

The 52/XC and 52/XD Cores are the basis for all2 2mixing console surfaces of the Series 52 product line.They , for example, a small 4-fader 52/ Xprocess T touchmixer, compact 8-fader 52/SX console, a -a mediumsize 16-fader 52/RX system or a large 32-fader 52/MXdconsole.

All 52/XC input and output modules and XC52/ 2Concentrators are compatible with the 52/XC and252/XD Cores. You may also use I/O modules and cores2of our 52/XS series.2

Used as routing matrix, the cores are not only able toswitch audio signals, but can also fade those in and outand even apply DSP processing ( ain, EQ or dynamics)gto the signals. You may also create complex On-Airswitching systems as well as talkback systems.

For direct control, combine the 52/XC 52/XD2 or 2Cores with a great variety of DHD control modules, including faders, router control panels and TFT touchdisplays. All control modules and TFT touch displaysuse standard CAT cables for communication with thecores.

DHD provides special PC software for remote control, routing, scheduling and monitoring. Third-partysystems, too, can interface via Ethernet by usingEmber+ . Oor the open DHD External Control Protocol rjust connect via or to .GPIO a serial port

The flexibility of the 52/XC and 52/XD Cores is2 2mainly based on the Toolbox configuration software.8All your ideas and requirements for certain functionswill be defined during a configuration process typicallydone by DHD or by your system integrator. This config-uration is what makes your system work. However, ifyou need to change it later, just use the Toolbox soft-8ware again.

DHD cores provide high-quality digital audio networking using aunique ultra-low latency technology which needs only one audiosample for the synchronous data transmission of your digital audiosignal. Simultaneously to the “MADI-like” audio data transmission,an IP-based transfer of control data packets takes place.

DHD Audio Networking

Audio Networking

This technology comes in two different versions:DHD GA and DHD APC.

DHD GA “Gigabit Audio” uses standard gigabit Ethernet datatransmission based on fibre-optic cables. This allows simultaneoustransfer of 512 input channels and 512 output channels per port plusIP-based 100 MBit/s control data packets.

Use DHD GA for powerful core-to-core interlinks or for the connec-tion of I/O boxes and control modules via oncentrators.to the core cDHD GA supports link lengths of up to 500 m using multi-modefibre-optic cables or of up to 40 km using single-mode fibre-opticcables.

DHD APC “Audio Power & Control” uses standard Ethernet data, transmission based on CAT cables. This allows the simultaneoustransfer of 48 input channels and 48 output channels per port plusIP-based 10 MBit/s control data packets.

Use DHD APC for core-to-core interlinks or for the connection of I/Oboxes and control modules. DHD APC supports link lengths of up to100 m using standard CAT cables.

DHD APC will also provide the 48 V power required by end deviceslike I/O boxes or control modules.

The 52/XC MADI Concentrator provides an addi-tional option for multi-channel connections toyour broadcast system. It can be used with allXC2/XD2/XS2 Cores and Series 52 mixing consoles.

Up to 8 MADI interfaces can be used on each MADIConcentrator to extend your XC2/XD2 Core to be apowerful MADI Router.

The signals of the MADI interfaces are concentratedon one fibre-optical cable (DHD Gigabit Audio) andconnected to a DSP Core. The ports conform toAES10 and run with 56 or 64 channels. The first MADIport contains an asynchronous sample rate converter.

By linking 12 MADI Concentrators to a central52/XD2 Router, you can build an impressive audiorouting system with up to 96 MADI ports – a matrixsize of 6144 x 6144 channels.

The 52/XC MADI Concentrator features redundantMADI port operation mode. A doubled fibre-opticMADI link can be created by pairing two MADI ports.

Another redundancy mode is the MADI concentratorredundancy. Using this mode, two MADI concentra-tors will be connected to one XC2/XD2 core and thepaired MADI links connected to both MADI concen-trators act with automatic failover.

The 52/XC2 Core can manage any task in your broad-cast studio. This includes small DJ-operated studioswith 12 faders or even larger control desks in acomplex studio environment with up to 44 faders.

By adding software licenses you can for exampleincrease the number of logic functions, peak metersor add channel delay. By adding an additional DSPcard you can get more processing power for faderprocessings or additional loudness meters.

It‘s small size of only 1 rack unit and low powerconsumption of only 15 W makes it perfect also foruse in OB vans and SNGs.

The 52/XS2 Core 52-1810 can be used with 52/SXcontrol modules. It is designed to work with a stan-dard configuration for On-Air studios with up to 16faders.

It can be configured with a simplified version of theToolbox8 software called ‘SXConfig‘. The 52/XS2Core can be extended to allow seamless networkingwith other Series 52 products, including DSP ControlSoftware and Remote Control PC Software.

The built-in 4ch/4ch Dante interface is the solution™

for simple playout and recording tasks, monitoring ortalkback.
