Program AimsOn the completion of the course the participant should be able to:

• Critically evaluate the scope of specialist nursing practice within the infectionprevention and control environment;

• Integrate knowledge from a range of disciplines that contribute to health anddisease management in the practice of infection prevention & control;

• Demonstrate proactive management, professional values and leadership in thepractice of infection prevention & control;

• Demonstrate effective collaborative practice and a multidisciplinary approach;

• Utilise an ethical and legal framework in the practice of infection prevention &control;

• Demonstrate the ability to critically appraise research evidence relevant toinfection prevention & control and translate this evidence into practice toenhance patient care.
