Park Facilities
Kelso Park Located on the south end of Walnut Street. Kelso Park provides park users with restrooms,
water, grills, backstop, electricity, picnic tables, and a totlot area. The shelter house can hold
about 100 people.
Russell Park Located in the 500 block of South Wilson Street. It provides users with restrooms, electricity,
water, picnic tables, tennis courts, basketball courts, grills, and playground equipment. The
shelter can hold up to 40-50 people.
Head Park Located in the northwestern part of town at the intersection of Head and Walnut Street. Head
Park provides users with restrooms, sand volleyball court, basketball court, playground
equipment, picnic tables, grill and a small shelter house with electricity.
Chautauqua Park Located adjacent to the swimming pool on West Russell Street. It provides users with picnic
tables, basketball courts, and playground equipment. There is also a shelter house at Chautauqua
Park. During the winter season an ice skating rink is maintained.
Roller Hockey Rink The roller hockey rink is located behind the swimming pool in Chautauqua Park.
Washington Park Located in Jefferson at the intersection of West Washington and Walnut Street. It provides users
with playground equipment, restrooms, basketball court, electricity and an open play area. The
shelter house can hold up to 30 people.
Daubendiek Park Located west of the Wastewater Treatment Plant on W. Russell Street. The park provides an as-
phalt biking/walking trail, native prairie grasses, a shelter house and restrooms. NO motorized
vehicles allowed.
Jefferson Skate Park Located on East Lincoln Way across the street from the depot. The park has a ramp, box and a
rail for skateboarding.
Park restrooms are closed for winter season approximately mid-October– mid-March.

Group Reservations Youth groups, church groups, and other

Room Rentals The community center has a variety of
rooms to rent for private functions. We
have space to accommodate 10-400
people. Call for more information or see
the rental information on the next page.
Racquetball Court 1/2, 1 or 2 hour reservations are available.
Phone-in or walk-in reservations accepted.

Batting Cage Batting cage use is free to members given
availability of gym. There is a $4.00/hour
charge for non-members along with daily
fee.
If half of the gym is reserved for practice
there will be a $20/hour charge.
All throwing is to be done on the south
side of the gym.
Birthday Parties The GCCC is a perfect location for
your next birthday party!
Rooms may be rented for $20/hour.
Room rentals do not include use of the
gym. However for an additional
$10.00 all party goers may enter the
gym regardless of membership while

Inclement Weather Policy The Greene County Community Center fitness classes will follow the same schedule as the
Greene County School District. If school has been cancelled due to weather all fitness classes will
be cancelled. If there is a 2 hour delay due to weather classes will resume as scheduled.

Community Center
It is the purpose of the Greene County Community Center to
provide a safe, friendly, family atmosphere for all of our guests.
Behavioral Guidelines Drugs, alcohol, tobacco, gambling and weapons, or anything that resembles a weapon, are not allowed on
or in the Greene County Community Center property.
Patrons/guests should respect staff and their decisions.
All guests should sign in at the front desk. Children 8 and under must be supervised by an adult or a re-
sponsible 14 year old. Must be 10 years or older to use walking track. Must be 14 years or older to be in
weight room.
Greene County Community Center is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Patron/guests are advised to
make use of provided lockers.
Bullying, harassment or fighting will not be tolerated.
Foul language is not acceptable under any circumstances.
Misuse or vandalism of the facility will not be tolerated.
No running or horseplay in the lobby.
No bouncing or throwing balls in the lobby.
No dunking/hanging on rims.
No food or drink in gymnasium during open gym hours.
Put equipment away when done using it.
No horseplay or balls on the walking track.
Shoes and shirt must be worn at all times.
Clean tennis shoes must be worn on the walking track.
Failure to follow the above behavioral guidelines may result in punishment
following the criteria of the Greene County Community Center Discipline Policy.
Persons without membership will be allowed to sit at the GCCC lobby
Nov 1-April 1. From April 1-Oct 31, persons without a membership will not be
allowed in GCCC unless a daily fee or membership is paid. Those without a pass not
adhering to our behavioral guidelines will be expelled from the community center

the required fee to participate in a class
+ Early registration is advised to ensure that a class will be held.
+ Cash, check, debit, MasterCard or VISA are all accepted. Mail-in or faxed
registrations must be sent with payment or an authorized credit card number.
+ A full refund or credit will be issued if the participant withdraws the first day of class,
or if the recreation department cancels a class.
+ A partial or pro-rated refund or credit will be issued if the participant must withdraw
because of injury or illness. Other special circumstances may be considered.
