Your organization produced this video report about the April 11 West Hollywood gala hosted by the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, PCRM celebrates 25 years of promoting compassionate goals . At time stamp 1:50, your video includes a brief interview with Dr. Henry Heimlich of Cincinnati, a member of PCRM's medical advisory board since 1986 and the namesake of PCRM's Henry J. Heimlich Award for Innovative Medicine that was presented at the gala. On April 8 the LA Weekly published an article entitled Heimlich Maneuvered that includes the following: In both its mission statement and its IRS filings, the Washington, D.C.-based Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) says it is "strongly opposed to unethical human research." But the group is throwing a private Hollywood Art of Compassion bash to hand out a major award named after Dr. Henry Heimlich, who has been condemned by mainstream medical organizations around the world for his 20-year program of trying to cure cancer and AIDS by injecting people with malaria-infected blood. According to the articles listed below my signature, Dr. Heimlich's so-called "malariotherapy" experiments have been conducted in Mexico, China, Ethiopia, Gabon, and elsewhere. The experiments have been condemned by the World Health Organization, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the US Food and Drug Administration, NIAID Director Dr. Anthony Fauci, Dr. Peter Lurie of Public Citizen, and other medical and bioethics experts. According to Radar magazine , in 2005 Cincinnati's Heimlich Institute employed a Bay Area car rental agent to supervise "malariotherapy" experiments on sex workers in Ethiopia. In a March 5, 2008 video interview , my colleague Justin Jeffre asked Dr. Heimlich about the status of his "malariotherapy" experiments. Dr. Heimlich replied, "We just had an extensive meeting. And it’s starting in a new country…we’re using it." Your website describes you as "A renowned humanitarian, artist and spiritual visionary, Her love and assistance have extended beyond all cultural and racial boundaries to millions of people around the world, including the needy and homeless, institutions of medical research on AIDS and cancer...." Here are my questions. 1) Do you advocate curing cancer and AIDS by infecting patients with malaria? 2) Do you have any opinions about the Heimlich "malariotherapy" experiments? If so, please elaborate. Thank you for your consideration and I'd appreciate receiving answers from you or your representative by this Wednesday, May 5. If you require more time, please let me know.
