5.09 Task 2 Instructions - Filter
1. Highlight the rows and columns that contain the information just entered.
2. Look on the Home tab for the Sort & Filter icon A-Z with a funnel beside it.
3. Click on the icon to open the options.
4. Click on Filter.
5. Notice the arrows that appear next to the column headings.
6. Click on the arrow next to the “Your Stock Value” column heading.
7. Click on Number Filters
8. Select Greater than or equal to
9. Enter 4,000 in the blank box next to Greater than or equal to
10. Press OK
11. Notice what happens to your data. (This sample will look different from yours. You will have
more data than this worksheet.)
11. Save as Stock Filter
What happened? You should have some items no longer visible. The only items showing are the ones
that meet the criteria you specified.
Submit this filtered worksheet as your assignment.

How do you get the information back that has been filtered out? Note: This is ONLY for your information.DO NOT complete these steps on your saved Stock Filter
assignment. If you do, you will lose the filter and will have to redo steps 1-11 and resubmit your
assignment.
1. Click on the filter button and click in the box that says “select all”. This will put all data back in
your worksheet. Nothing is filtered now because the criteria you specified has been overridden
by selecting all.
Or
Click on the Sort/Filter button and click on Filter to take the filter off and the arrows disappear beside
each column heading.
