Building Technologies Division s Data Sheet Fire Safety & Security Products MXL / MXLV [with FireFinder TM XLS] Network Fiber Modules Models D2300CPS and D2325CPS Product Overview The Siemens Fire Safety Models D2300CPS (multi-mode) and D2325CPS (single-mode) fiber-optic interface modules can be used to transmit RS-485 communication between FireFinder XLS and MXL intelligent, addressable fire-alarm control panels which includes H-Net communication between FireFinder XLS main and remote panels; M-Net communication between MXL main and remote panels; and X-Net communication between MXL or FireFinder XLS panels. Models D2300CPS and D2325CPS can act as either a repeater or an end-point unit. The fiber-optic interface modules are powered by 24VDC from the fire-alarm control panels. Models D2300CPS and D2325CPS can be powered from the Model PSC-12 power supply or Model PSX-12 power supply extender when used with the FireFinder XLS. When used with the MXL system, Models D2300CPS and D2325CPS can be powered from Model MMB-2, Model MMB-3 or Model PSR-1. The fiber-optic interface modules can also be powered by Model PAD-3 or Model PS-35. Specifications Using the model D2300-MP mounting plate, two (2) Models D2300CPS and D2325CPS modules can be mounted in any FireFinder XLS CAB-series enclosure. For the MXL, up to two (2) Model D2300CPS or Model D2325CPS modules can be mounted in any MXL enclosure that will accept a given Model MOM-4, using the Model MXL-MPFO mounting plate. When using System 3 TM -style rails that mount on the MXL’s Model MBR-2 or Model MME-3 backbox, Model MSR-1. Model D2300CPS or Model D2325CPS can also be mounted with the System 3 bracket, Model MPFO. Up to three (3) brackets can be installed on a single rail. The Model D2300CPS module can also operate in either a daisy chain or star configuration, allowing for network configurations that are not possible with RS-485 networks alone. The connection between the Model D2300CPS modules uses two (2), high-quality duplex 50/1 25 or 62.5/1 25 fiber-optic cables and ST-style fiber connectors. The duplex fiber-optic cable has two (2) cables in a single shield similar to an electrical zip cord. Each segment of the fiber network can be up to 1.9 miles. The connection between the Model D2325CPS modules uses two (2), high-quality duplex 9/125 fiber optic cables and ST-style fiber connectors. Network Fiber Modules Models D2300CPS and D2325CPS

For both multi-mode and single-mode installations, overall system-fiber length is limited by the communication delay across the entire fiber network. Total network length should not exceed 70,000 feet.

Details for Ordering

For both fiber-optic interface modules (Models D2300CPS and D2325CPS), there are five (5) light-emitting diode (LED) indicators for Power and Status. The Power LED is green and lights whenever there is 24VDC. Both channels A and B have a yellow and green LED. The green LED indicates the module is transmitting data on that channel. The yellow LED light will trigger when data is received.

Temperature and Humidity Range Models D2300CPS and D2325CPS are approved for operation within the temperature range of 32° to 120°F (0°C to 49°C), and at a relative humidity of 93+/-2% at a temperature of 90+/-3°F (32+/-2°C).
