5 Ways To Help You Relax March 20, 2018 Modern life is full of deadlines, frustrations, hassles and demands. With the hectic lives that we lead today, stress is an almost constant companion. While a small amount of stress can be good for you, long-term exposure can leave you under performing. Knowing how to relax is vital for ensuring your health and wellbeing, as well as restoring passion and joy in your life. There are lots of ways to help you to relax, not all of them work for everyone all the time, but even just doing one thing to help yourself relax will be of benefit. Here are 5 ways to help you to relax 1. Exercise: When exercising endorphins are released that trigger positive feelings. Take up swimming; even just going for a swim every once in a while will be beneficial in calming yourself and relaxing. Join a sports team; you’ll be making new friends and exercising at the same time. Go hiking; spending time in the fresh air will help your body relax. Take a yoga class; yoga is not only great for you physically, but it will help you learn to regulate your breathing and calm your mind. 2. Get adequate sleep: your body uses this time to restore its energy reserves and not getting enough sleep will leave you feeling drained and irritable. Make sure you keep to regular sleeping patterns. Try to go to bed and wake up at the same time each day. Routinizing your sleep cycle will teach your body when it’s supposed to be tired, aiding in better sleep and less sleep deprivation. 3. Eat a healthier diet: your body needs to be healthy, strong and happy to help you deal with stress. Drink more water. Decrease caffeine and alcohol consumption. By Gab

Eat a healthy breakfast and healthy snacks throughout the day. It’s better to eat severalsmaller meals during the day than to consume three large meals. For a healthy stress-free diet, try eating complex carbohydrates such as whole grain bread and pasta, foods high in vitamin A such as oranges, foods high in magnesium like spinach, soybeans or salmon, and drink black or green teas, which contain antioxidants.

4. Organise your life: set yourself goals for what you need to achieve each day. Make sure to add some breathing room in the middle of the day that will give you time to recharge.

Know your limits. Be realistic about what you can and can’taccomplish each day. Prioritise your tasks. Work on nishing the most important or urgent tasks rst. Do your most unpleasant or dicult task at the beginning of the day, when you are fresh. Schedule your day, if possible, so that stressful scenarios don’t overlap. Stagger deadlines for large projects. Review your goals at the end of the day and think about all you have accomplished. Check o the things you have accomplished on a to-do list.

5. Relaxation: relax your body and mind but don’t expect your stress to immediately dissipate; it can take time. In most cases try not to xate on the stress whilst your relaxing. Make sure to set time aside for yourself, do something you love or do something you haven’t had time to do. Let your body tell your mind that everything is okay.

Listen to calm, soft music, or any music that gets you relaxed and happy. Take a bath, add Epsom salts, other fragrant bath salts or add bubbles. Indulge in your private time and relax the body. Have a massage, either with a professional or a loved one. Use lotions or oils and dim ambient light for the most relaxing atmosphere. Hang out with friends or family, talk about what is stressing you, or just have a good time to get your mind o the things making you stresses.
